TEST DRIVE - Part 2

Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.


YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

[He's not sure what to make of it, but he's sure his long-body length head-wings are bristling from being so close to... Well Harley makes him feel uneasy but he's able to keep his composure.]

Hmmm... All of those endeavours seem very hard to believe. Ordinarily, I'd think you were giving me all lies. However, I will do my best.

But don't rule out anything as being impossible. Lookit where we are! Look at what we're doing. Some people would say this was impossible too.

[Whether it actually bothers Kallian or not is up for debate. On one hand, he's seen how his sister's friends dress. On the other hand, no one was as... active around him. He has to smooth his wings down and collect himself.]

[He keeps his composure but he shudders as he's touched. He's... not actually sure how to react. No one actually has the audacity to touch his wings... or anyone elses, really.]

I am a High Entia. All of my people have these wings. I don't really know what an angel is, but we are definitely not birds.

[Her middle name might as well be audacity. Because when she saw how he reacted she couldn't help but continue brushing along those feathers with her fingertips]

So what do you not-birds do?

Besides walk through strange holes in our buildings and end up in other dimensions, not much. Mostly go about my life in in the Imperial Capital, Alcamoth.

[It feels nice. Honestly it does, but he raises his hand to try stop her.]

Could you please stop? They're sensitive sometimes.

[She grins sheepishly and holds her hands up taking two steps back]

H-heh heh, sorry bought that. They just look so cute and fluffy like a chicken.

So what's the Imperial Capital whozits?

A chicken?!

[He has a feeling he should be offended but he swallows any further outburst back.]

Alcamoth... it's the capital city floating above the Eryth Sea and where the imperial family lives. I'm the regent there, and representative for all of my kind.

[Translate: He's a prince]

[Fluttering her eyelashes at you prince chicken]

How does the island keep floating? Magic? Gnomes? Magic gnomes?

[He still feels very awkward and very confused and he's about 80% sure he should be more annoyed if he wasn't so confused. Where was Alvis when you needed him? A seer was always helpful...]

Our technology uses the lifeforce of our planet to levitate the city above the Eryth Sea. The Hovering Reefs and the Ether plant uses the same technology to do likewise.

[That's a reasonable feeling around Harley, especially with how she dresses, corsets and booty shorts and other assorted manner of improper attire.]

Ah so it's magical technology! I love that stuff! It's like the internet. Nobody really knows how it works, they just know how to make it work for them!

I suppose that's one way to put it. Ether is more... energy when I come from, but it's the same principle as magic.

[Well, that's what Alvis said anyway. Also notice you're also one power short, Harley. You may have played the game but you got nuthin]

OK bucko, I think that means it's your turn! Hit me up with two truths and a lie and we'll see if we can't make this crystal heart throb for us!

My turn? Oh yes, the challenge.

[He takes a moment to think.]

My half-sister is in line for the throne, despite myself being older; I'm technically a hundred and fifty one years old; and When I reach of age, I will transform into a Telethia, whose purpose is to remove all life on Bionis.

[ She strokes her chin thoughtfully and then with a dramatic flourish of her hand pointing at his face accusingly...]



I don't believe for a minute that you're a day over one hundred!

[And yet for some reason the other two are more believable?]

[He jumps a bit at the loud exclamation... but then he chuckles.]

No, that's the truth. High Entia live much longer than Homs. I'm still quite young, but I've lived for 151 years. The truth is the last fact. Age doesn't matter- it's your blood purity and the ether exposure that does.

Oh ho! So does that mean the first one was the lie because she's your "Half-sister" and blood purity is the important thing?

[pikana]

No, that is true, blood purity is important in determining what a Telethia is. However, my father chose her as his successor because she is wise, kind and her mixed-heritage protects her from transforming into a Telethia. Telethia are mindless beasts, only capable of serving the Bionis. Since I am a pure-blood like most, I am doomed to turn into one when exposed to enough ether.

Before I arrived here, I was sure I died as a Telethia.

Darn! I thought for sure that last one sounded so angst inducing that it had to be real!

Oh well, guess we're 0 for 0 but we got to learn some neat new stuff about each other!

Yeah, that's true. I've never played this game before, and it was nice...

[Power up! in the distance]

[ There's a faint glowing from the gem on her back and she taps it curiously twisting around to look.]

Ooo what'd I get what'd I get?

[ Long pause. Nothing seems to have changed]

I think I got ripped off!

[Kallian frowns as he feels the gem glow. Immediately, he knows what he has, and he's not happy. It's a feeling that's so familiar to him, but to his surprise, he can keep it down.]

You probably have to activate the power. Did you even find your first power?

Well sure!

[The gem behind her back glows again and she draws from it a glowing red and black mallet with little red diamond shaped gems patterned on it. It looks heavy but she twirls it about easily]

Makes sense seeing as it was my weapon of choice back home.

Wow... That's... quite a weapon. It's even bigger than some of the Guarders I see at home. My first power wasn't as... dramatic as that. Apparently I got the power of flight...

And my second one isn't much better if it's what I think it is.
