Since I'm working again and I've really been falling behind on my RP game, I think it's time to lighten my deck a bit. So Trixie and Gaige will be returning home Unless anyone wants to hang onto their gems for sentimental reasons

I'm still here with Harley and Amethyst though so no worries. Hopefully I'll find balance once again and be able to tag daily again.

Waverly Bay's First Gem Tournament Planning Post!!!

That's right! As seen in this recent post, Yang is putting together a tournament along with Amethyst, Ruby, and a bunch of other people. Any and all gems will be invited to compete. The tournament itself will be open to viewing for the entirety of Waverly Bay in the hopes of strengthening the bond between the Gems and the local citizens. Yang is currently working on finding Gems who can help her create an arena large enough to house an audience from both the Temple and Waverly Bay which may or may not become a permanent fixture.

At present, both IC-ly and OOC-ly, the tournament is set to span an entire week from April 24th to April 30th. Events will be an even split between 1-on-1 matches and competitions of skill such as accuracy, reflexes, strength, etc, with events alternating days (mostly so that Gems have a day to heal between matches or compete in the skill events if they so wish). Once I've got an idea of who all is interested in doing what and where I'll post the schedule of events and match-ups, hopefully a week or at least a few days before the tournament is set to play out so that people can plot things among themselves.

I'm thinking using the RNG will be best for fairly deciding match-ups and winners but mun discretion may work too. Depending on how much interest there is, competitors may be divided into skill levels to keep things more even. Either way, I am very interested in feedback for this as it's one of the things I'm most unsure of how to go about. So please feel free to weigh in below!

Also on the subject of feedback, please feel free to post suggestions for the competitive events! The only ones I've been able to think of so far are Accuracy (bulls-eyeing a target, possibly from greater and greater distances), Reflexes (hitting a succession of pop-up targets as quickly as one can), and Strength (basically weight-lifting). Maybe something could be done with Speed/Agility?

And if your character wouldn't want to compete at all, that's fine too! Yang is specifically looking for healers to help out during the tournament and setting up stalls to sell stuff like food and other wares during the tournament is strongly encouraged. Basically, if you have an idea for something your character would like or want to do to get involved, just post below!
