Hiatus and a small PSA
Hey guys! So I've... technically been on hiatus for a while, but I figured I should probably make it official. I'm going to be gone from now until Sept 8th! I've been extremely busy with work, and will be for the next week and a half (and I'm even going camping next weekend). So I won't be tagging into new posts and I'll just be sloooowly pecking at the few old threads that I've still got going. I've also dropped a few here and there that seemed to be mostly wrapped up.
And before I go, I also wanted to talk about COMMUNICATION. Over the past few weeks or so, I received a couple of plurks, private messages and the like from players who had been having trouble in the game because they were being caught off guard by things that other players were doing. Like unexpected plot events that would affect their characters, characters being handwaved as doing something that their player hadn't given the full OK on, and other things like that. It's ok for miscommunication to happen sometimes, even I've been guilty of it! But it's something we could stand to be more mindful of, especially since this game is so prone to dramatic reveals and magical shenanigans.
It's fun to do surprises and twists in stories, but when we're all collaboratively writing together, it can stressful for other players. Everybody's got their own character arcs kind of planned out, so unexpected (or frequent) drama can throw that out of whack. Obviously we have the Player Plots page to make sure that player-run events aren't overlapping each other too much, but when it's something that's more minor that will still involve other people, make sure you let them know! Whether you send them a PM, plurk, email or IM. Whatever works!

Also seconding THE PLAYER PLOTS PAGE/PMs/PLURK/EMAIL/IM/ETC ARE YOUR FRIENDS! Always keep in touch with your fellow players about what you're planning ESPECIALLY if it involves their characters!
