[He almost feels bad being this immediately and outright short spoken and dickish towards Kafei in a way that couldn't even begin to be considered an attempt at being playful. Just being an asshole.
But only almost. He wouldn't have minded seeing a familiar face, if he was being honest. That face being Kafei isn't a good start to this adventure, though, as far as he's concerned. Because, in a way, it's just so much of a reminder of how much further and further he's getting from home, from Mayfield, the one place he ever felt he belonged. No reminders of them there, but of someone who drove him crazy back in Horseville? Yeah. He could have that apparently.
Hell. He should have gone ahead and just thrown something at the big stupid dumb gem. Who cares at this point? Maybe it would've gotten pissed off and zapped him somewhere else, maybe someplace a little more tolerable at least.
