No... Basically, the way fusion works is if you've gotten really close to somebody, and you understand each other really well, you can do a special dance and fuse together to make an even more powerful gem than you already were.

...It can be a real head rush at first, but it's actually pretty cool, once you get used to it. I've never experienced anything like it before...
