[There's a hole in the wall of the heart's room in the temple, just like the holes people have been arriving through. However, instead of appearing, spitting someone out, and vanishing, this one has been here for a while now. It's proved impossible to climb into for anyone who's tried, and simply... doesn't seem to be doing anything.
Except for today. Today, if you happen to come take a look at it, you'll find that the hole and a small area surrounding it have turned completely grey, and there's an occasional staticy, glitchy flicker within the hole's depths.
And then it happens. It's hard to say that the figure comes through the hole, though at the same time that's definitely what happens. It's a strange figure indeed - vaguely skeletal, warped and distorted looking, and is that a long coat or just pure darkness?
But, should you witness this, you don't get much time to examine him. He lurches, looking surprised and panicked, and reaches up to claw at his head as an intense - possibly familiar? - glow trails from his eye sockets. A bony hand finds the cluster of clear crystal bursting from the crack in his skull above his right eye, and his form... starts coming undone.
Glitching. Flickering. Parts of him displace - and then dissipate entirely, the fluorite cluster clattering to the ground.
Welp. Someone just had a hard enough time with existence to instantly gem themselves. What now?]

[Someone's left the door to their room open, which might not be a good thing, because the inside may be somewhat difficult to look at.
It's a lab, clearly, though the machines in this one are reconstructions of those once designed largely to handle magic. It's not very big either, but it's clear why - parts of it look distinctly non-euclidean, wires and consoles forming impossible shapes. Displays keep flickering backwards or sideways in time, and there's at least one... object? that's blurring into millions of itself, as if you're seeing every possible instance of it throughout every possible timeline at once.
Naturally, the room flickers and glitches every few minutes, prompting the... man? hunched in front of one of the consoles to mutter something to himself in a garbled voice and attempt to stabilize one of these bizarre elements. Almost as if he hadn't noticed they were doing that before.
