Sort of a self inflicted curse. It's not like some other human or demon caused you to become a Chaotic, but it's definitely irreversible.
The way most known about is turning what most consider evil. The "want to destroy the world," "sell my soul to darkness" kinda evil. [He sighed thoughtfully through his nose, rubbing the back of his head thoughtfully.]
I'm positive there's other ways, there's been WAY too many Chaotics over history to think that every one tried to destroy the world or what have you. But it's the way most known about mostly because of things like... Reports from loved ones, y'know? Sad souls that watched the descent into madness.
It's a bad business, and unfortunately Chaotics are pervasive enough that a whole warrior class exists to protect against them. Maybe someday it'll be solved but... it hasn't been figured out so far.
