TEST DRIVE - Part 2
Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.
How this works:
☆ This is a test drive forcosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.
☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.
☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.
☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.
☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.
☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.
YOUR OPTIONS:
☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!
☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.
☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.
☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.
You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

[Ushio had been here a grand total of 10 days and he had already subdued his first monster. Not a bad track record for someone who basically beat the monster to death with his bare hands.
Currently, the massive monster of a man was gently storing away its gem for recovery, and with surprising gentleness, he placed it where it could heal.]
That's settled. These small fries are pretty tough at times. [Back in the day, he would have called them garbage, but long association with Fudo Yusei and his friends changed his outlook on life considerably.]
4. Event time!
Two truths and a lie, all right here we go!
[Sitting cross-legged in the public forums, he started in on it, thinking of his truths and lie.] There is a woman who I detest with all my might. I once dug out survivors from the quake that rocked Domino City. I have many friends.
[Only someone who knew his history, could tell this situation. It hurt to say he hated Mikage, but it was the worst lie he could think of.]
3. Farmers Market
[Ushio was never good at shopping.
Even providing for two, since Mikage all but lived at his apartment by now, Ushio was working on getting the hang of having to feed more than himself. As such by new habit, he was working on getting a varied amount of fruits and vegetables, stuff that seemed unlikely to fill others up.]
I swear, cooking for myself is going to be tough again... [Picking up an apple, he tossed the vendor some currency before biting into it.] Oh, it's good!
Fresh fruit was a commodity that he was unfamiliar with when he had graduated from High School all those years ago, when Satellite was once known as simply Domino City. He kind of missed the days when he could look out his crummy window and see others Dueling.
Dueling had become his life, along with cracking down on Satellite "garbage" who were trying to break the law. Unfair laws back in the day, but it was a cause that he had been dedicated to with some fevour. All of that changed when he met Yusei, and he had begun to think about other things, like trying to help people instead of helping a admittedly oppressive group.]
I should get some of these apples, [he mused to himself, tossing down some more and picking out some fresh fruit, checking the skin in the light for bruises.]

Because in the Heart Room is a rather oversized being, perhaps a head or two taller than you if it wasn't floating. He's avoiding the bubbles, but when he sees Ushio, the creature begins growling]

[Wow, self, that was the dumbest thing I've said in months Reflected Ushio silently as he stared down the monster. A part of him wished he could call forth Goyo Guardian and show him one for, but this time it was better if he stayed resolute and matched it's growling posture.
Never let the bigger fish know you're scared of it. That just leads to you getting eaten in the pond.]

He's been trying to shift to normal all morning. At least he's not as big as last time he tried it.
Last time he had to be conked in the head and knocked out. And that was messy.
It's trying to convey that but the poor beast is gonna knock Ushio again. It's getting really annoying now.]

It tries to be careful, but he was avoiding the Heart for a reason.
He accidentally hits it with the force of his wings, which usually can knock Mobile Artillery off its feet.
So the beast is knocked back with all that force, and slams into the wall of the cave with a terrified, pained. It convulses, sparking with the green energy it's been emitting, twitching on the floor]

Because the gem starts to glow and the ungodly screech comes from the creature changed into a very much human shriek.
And the monster shrinks...
Until it stops as a man writhing in pain on the ground, looking absolutely nothing like the beast he just was.]
Arrrghhh... ahhh...
{And the sparks are dying off.]

[With his hometown being swarmed by Incans, it wasn't a big deal right now that this guy was apparently able to turn into a monster.
Reaching into his bag, he withdrew a beer he had been saving up.] Here, drink this. It'll take the edge off.
