January Event Plotting/Sign Up Post!

Hiya folks! If you've been looking at the calendar lately, you may have noticed by now that our very next event is coming up this Wednesday! We'd like to give you more details about this event so you may start plotting for it.

Next week, starting Wednesday the Temple will be completely sealed off, shutting out most gems while trapping a few others inside.

How and why this happens you will have to wait till Wednesday to find out. But the bulk of the event will be trying to find a way back into/out of the temple/dealing with the separation from your CR (should you be separated from them). For the trapped people this also means your food and supplies will be limited to what you already have inside the temple or what your powers are capable of creating. (Don't worry! This will only last a few days so no one will starve! But it is extra incentive to unseal the temple)

Because of the nature of this event, we're giving you time to plan accordingly. There are sign ups below for trapped inside/locked out and we encourage you all to use this post to talk about your plans. While sign ups for those locked out is not necessarily mandatory, we would like everyone who intends to be trapped inside to sign up, just so we can keep track. In addition, please remember that the majority of gems should be locked out. If we feel too many gems are opting to be trapped instead we will cut off sign ups. Please note that if you don't sign up you will be assumed to be on the outside.

Lastly, specifically for those trapped inside we would also like to advise you that violence is not very likely to work for the first half of this event (and if anything, may make things worse) so keep this in mind when deciding which of your characters will be trapped. But we would love to see a more creative usage of people's powers. (i.e. someone using water powers to make sure you can all still drink, etc)

Locked Out

For those planning to have their characters stuck on the outside.

Labrys is going to be stuck outside the Temple with everyone else and doing her best to try and unseal it!

I don't have any specific plans for the event for her but I'm totally open to plotting stuff out!

Jane Crocker will be locked out of the temple, and when initial efforts to reenter it fail, she will most likely begin efforts to make sure as many people as possible have some sort of shelter, whether it be somewhere in town or built on the beach. If anyone else would like to help organize emergency shelter things or work with her, I'd love to plot that out!

Thida will also be locked out of the temple, very dedicated to getting back inside and generally wary of the weather, on alert for any sign of rain (since it could cause her significant injury). Those who plan on not giving up easily i.e. reopening the Temple should totally come and plot with me.

Karkat will be locked out, because it's funny, and he'll have to deal with not being able to get back to his room and the things there. He can deal with the not sleeping, but wow, rude.

He'll also be trying to get back in. Maybe he could figure out weapon summoning with this, since hey, why not bang on the temple with a sickle? That's bound to help, right?

Remi's going to end up stuck outside. Guess who's going to be less than amused about being left without a home?

Mettaton will be trapped outside. Unfortunately, he can't do much, but after a lot of groaning and whining, he might be up for providing some moral support.

Adachi is going to be locked out and not give a single fuck about getting back into the temple until he realizes Sonico's stuck in there too. Then he'll care.

Of course she's locked outside. She can never be locked in the same place with the people she cares about. So, what she's going to do? Try and get it unsealed because this scenario is uncomfortably familiar.

And if it does end almost like that, someone is getting their behind kicked... maybe. But anyway, come plot with her because, when she gets off work, she's going to be as close to the Temple as she can get.

Rise will be stuck outside so she can fill the communications role like Kanami will for those inside! Her power is pretty much exactly the same since she had it first... she can only communicate with people she knows who will let the 'signal' in, and she can connect up to three people besides herself!

Since poor Kanami is new to this power, it seems Rise will be trying to help her get a handle on it as well as keeping in touch with her friends inside. (Sorry Sonico and possibly Cirno, she'll keep you updated so you don't worry too much!)

Rarity and Erica will be trapped outside. They'll probably be really annoyed at this, for different reasons.

Who's got two thumbs and is going to get ALL the sleeping bags/blankets from the thrift store to sell them at super jacked up prices? THIS GUY. He's probably going to be roaming around outside the temple where the most people looking for a place to stay will be. Feel free to try and steal one if you want to risk his wrath. Or, you know, buy one.

He'll be sleeping out there too, btw. It's not like he couldn't ask a certain someone to stay with them but he would probably rather poof back into his gem than even consider it.

He also may or may not try punching the temple's doors back open (probably, depending on the situaton). It'll go well.

Alice will be outside! She'll be going around doing everything from trying to study the impermeable blockade to building shelters and making sure they work to setting up things to occupy people's time.

Kassan will be locked out and be perfectly fine with it, and will spend most of his time teasing those who don't take too well to the outdoors.

And also helping, maybe. Bonfire on the beach if it gets too cold at night.

Harley/Gaige/Trixie

Harley, Trixie and Gaige will be locked outside

Harley: Has tons of junk stashed in her gem that might help keep people warm/dry/comfy, and if you're really desperate you can sleep in her office which has some comfy furniture.

Trixie: Is going to complain very loudly for hours at a time, but she is surprisingly skilled at building makeshift shelters out of junk parts.

Gaige: Is going to try and blow a hole in the temple to get in. Who wants to make some bombs out of basic household chemicals?

Ichigo will be among those locked out. She'll probably be rather annoyed that all their camping/outdoor supplies in that closet Amelie helped set up will be stuck inside, but what can ya do?

Don is going to try to use his tinkering skills to make drills capable of getting through the material the Temple doors are made of! Because this is not cool and we may as well have the direct approach, because who knows how long the guys trapped inside can last!

So, anyone who wants to help out with making and testing said drills, is more than welcome to!

Yup, locking Jade out! I can't entirely say what she'll be up to without knowing the hows and whys of the temple closure, but chances are she's not going to be in a great mood after day 1, not having her own bed to sleep in. She'll be doing her best to help find a way back in through experiments and ~science~, but she could easily be diverted into helping the people locked out if that is a more pressing issue!

Shun is going to be locked outside, since I feel like he'd be better served helping out there. Given he used to live in a Resistance camp for quite a while, he's used to building temporary housing and all the issues that come with that, so that should be helpful to the folks stuck without a place to go.

Yang will be locked outside, which is...not ideal. Mostly because her sister is locked inside (along with any other teammates or friends).

She'll probably be among the first to simply try breaking the door down by force. Later she might try breaking in through the old hidden basement in the lighthouse.

I am super open to plotting other things out.

Ralph here will be locked out and will probably attempt to punch a way back in.

Both Masumi and Gongenzaka will be stuck outside~

They'll both go about this their own way, with Masumi trying to scan for information, and Gongenzaka potentially either slamming into the door, or just staring as he tries to puzzle out a better solution.

Pokey is going to be locked out of the Temple, and be simultaneously self-righteous about not trusting the Temple and pissed off he can't get to his things. He'll probably spend a while trying to find a hidden entrance or something by scaling the temple with his spider leg attachment powers, or using his dumb finger laser weapon to try and futily cut into the Temple.

Eventually he'll give up on being a massive crybaby and will try to think of a rational way to get everyone together to discuss how to get into the Temple, since this obviously means that something possibly big is coming.

Blake is going to be stuck outside. She can try to use her teleport to get inside, but of course it isn't going to work.

Chris is going to be locked out too, and willing to try and get inside with his assorted animal shapeshifts. Other than that, he can always be support.

Nicolas is going to be locked out, and can use his healing powers on anyone who gets a bit too banged up trying to get back in, if need be.
