Council of Ricks Plotting and Info Post

Beware! Some of the themes it's possible to play with in this plot may be triggering, including the use of illegal substances, depression, and suicidal tendencies. HOWEVER, none of these themes are mandatory and you can ignore them completely if you wish. In addition, know going in that this plot may result in poofing depending which role in it you take.



So, many of you may have seen this event on the Cosmographia calendar and gone 'What the heck is that supposed to be? Didn't Rick drop months ago?' And you'd be right! Rick left by way of his pyrite gem shattering, and the pieces have been chilling out in a bourbon bottle in the birdhouse since then. Occasionally Ford has been taking them out in the name of trying to find a way to piece completely-shattered gems back together, because what is a good mad scientist if he doesn't try to cheat death a little? Not very good, that's what.

On the 21st of February it's all going to go horribly awry. By this time the shards will have gathered enough energy to generate bodies for themselves and will manifest into a horde of parasitic beasties. Their goal is to rejoin into a whole gem by any means necessary, and that is where your characters come in.

The parasites will seek out other gem residents of Waverly Bay and forcibly attach themselves to their actual gem regardless of where it might be located. This will make removing them damn-near impossible. From that point on your character will start feeling a little... different. The shards want to create a whole Rick and that will mean influencing your character to act like him to some degree. They may be influenced as little as just picking up a few mannerisms or as much as losing control of their body entirely and having to watch as they do and say things completely out of character for them. How far you go with this is up to you! Symptoms may include:

• Foul language
• A raunchier/meaner sense of humor
• Constant burping and/or drooling
• Increased intelligence
• Increased libido (for adults)
• Increase in consumption of illegal or harmful substances (including stuff like sugar if your character is underage)
• A nihilist and/or 'look out for number one' attitude
• Depression
• Suicidal tendencies

It's a little difficult to get across exactly what Rick Sanchez is like through a list, so Lepo has helped me to compile some clip references for you. Remember that you are not obligated to use all of these traits, and you can make the effects as strong or as light as you would like! While this plot can be dark and dramatic, it doesn't have to be and in fact we encourage people to use it for humor instead of drama in the spirit of the comedic show it's based on.

The plot itself will run for a week (the 21st to the 28th) to allow for people to get the most out of it or have their characters' takeover by the parasite stretch out if they so choose. I will put up an open post for people to make top levels and tag around, but you may also put up your own posts or tag into others (with permission if your character is exhibiting a potentially-triggering trait) if you wish. During that week Roland is going to discover that the only way to cure a character who is under the influence of a parasite is to poof them, which separates the pyrite shard from their gem and effectively allows them to heal. If you've been looking for an excuse to poof your character, this plot is for you!

At the end of the plot I will put up another log, in which all those who are still infected will be drawn to the place where Rick's gem shattered in one last-ditch attempt by the shards to recombine into a full Rick. Conveniently this is near the birdhouse and Roland will be available to poof anyone who has not yet discovered the cure on their own, or to instruct any uninfected tagalongs on how to cure their friends.

We've purposefully left how many shards Rick shattered into vague, so anyone who wants to is welcome to get in on this. This plot is meant to be able to have something for everyone, so please use it as a springboard to do whatever your heart desires and have fun!

Jappleack will be unaffected. She's going to be trying to find and smash any Rick parasites, cause fuck him, and trying to help any of her CR that is infected which...she will not be thrilled when she hears that poofing people is the only way to cure them. She'll try to see what other ways she can help, sure that SOMETHING will work but will...remain pretty unhappy about having to poof someone if it comes to it.

On further consideration with how many people are going for infection, Pokey will also be unaffected and trying to help/deal with the infection. Unlike Japple, Pokey won't hesitate to poof those who are infected, including CR, since after Mayfield dude can understand the actual necessity for a mercy kill. So if you're interested in that, especially if you're CR with him, hit me up about it.
