February Exploration Summary

FREE EXPLORATION After the hurricane, Haruka found what appears to be Tiger's gem-tech workshop. Technologically adept characters may be able to study the components here to better understand how gem tech works. DREAMSCAPES As a result of Gems meddling in Hawk's dreamscape, Hawk has become less corrupted, and has regained the ability to talk. She will be available to interact with in a log on the 5th.

March World Updates

WEATHER All month - Summer continues to beat down from the sky. While you won't see (or feel!) those record highs of January, February is still obnoxiously warm. Slap on your sunblock and toss on your shades if you don't want to fry to a crisp. NPC ACTIVITY All month - With the summer season drawing to a close, the stores in Waverly Bay and Bricktown will be doing their best to clear out their summer stock. If you've had an eye on something in the shops then maybe you'll get lucky and it'll go on sale! 16th - Abigail will be throwing a beach party in Bricktown and has extended an open invite to the Gems of Waverly Bay. There's free food and there's sure to be some laughs so why not give it a visit? MONSTER REPORT 8th - A small, bird-like Gem Monster that resembles a parrot has taken up residence in the forest and spends all night letting out the most godawful shrieks. It's keeping everyone awake -- why not see if you can get it to quiet down?

Other Announcements

As per the usual schedule, March will not have an event. However, we do have a very important OOC announcement for everyone: as of the end of the March Activity Check Cosmographia will be moving into an Endgame state. When March comes to a close, Cosmographia will have been open for two years (!) and through much discussion the mod team has decided that is as good an age as any for a game to close its doors. What does this mean for the players? Well... that's mostly up to you guys! We have two options for you going forward: - An Endgame event that will wrap up the metaplot and give the players to reach the mystery at the Heart of Waverly Bay before the game closes. Current and previous players will all be invited to bring their previous characters back to Waverly Bay for one big sendoff! Following the conclusion of the event, Cosmographia will be converted into a sandbox where current and past players can continue the story of their Gems in a more free-form, musebox setting. - A slow conversion of Cosmographia from a game to an open musebox that will be available and open to anyone who wishes to play around in Waverly Bay. Regardless of the choice players make, this will be having a few effects on the game going forwards. Firstly, it means that as of the end of the March Activity Check, we will be closing apps to brand new characters. We're doing this to focus on rolling out a satisfying endgame for our players and because we feel that new players coming into the game would struggle to find their feet in the environment of an endgame event. Apps for returning characters will be open until the beginning of the April Activity Check at which point, all apps will be permanently closed. March and April's Activity Checks will simply be check-ins! All you have to do is post a comment and let us know you're still in the game. All things being ideal, we are aiming to close the game on the 31st of May. From that point on, the game will be converted into a musebox. This musebox will not be moderated in the same way the game is but please do contact the mods if you have any issues! We'd also like to apologize for what we're sure is a very sudden announcement and we hope that the suddenness does not cause anyone any rp-related upset. We are very dedicated to giving our players the sendoff they deserve -- so if you have any questions or concerns them please leave them below and we will do our best to address them.
