...By accident, kind of. Something...happened in my world. Something terrible. And in my grief I got lured away from my world by a god intent on devouring reality.

Kind of. He needed to put me on a version of the world that wasn't my own since he thought that stranding me there would keep me from interfering in his destruction of all life. Apparently I'm a serious abnormality, to the point I disrupted even the crap he was cooking up.

We beat him, in the end. I bit his head off.
