Bill has never had a good intention in his entire existence.

I'm sure of that, but I mean.

He keeps saying he's far beyond human existence and blah blah, but most of his motivations are all so very human, you know? If anything, all of Bill's actions just seem like a very greedy human being who has powers and uses them on a whim.

He's mostly just a bully.

I try to think of it that way to feel better, anyway. But I don't deal with bullies well so it doesn't exactly bring him to earth enough for me to feel better about it.

Monsters and the supernatural you can fight and defeat and it's over. But Bill's like a person now. With friends and allies. And I can't banish him to the shadow realm or paint wards against him or anything like that.

I have to deal with him as if he's a human even if he's not. And it's the worst.

Yes, but there's a way to beat him too. I mean, Bill's not exactly very smart when it comes to covering his tracks. People already know he's up to no good.

That just means that most of the people who are fine with Bill are those who are morally gray, or at least can turn a blind eye to what he really does. People like Akoya, Madison...Rose...they look at the world as something that at times has to be beyond black and white, good and evil.

That's really where Bill gets his support. Most people only think he's gray.

And that excuses everything. He's only KIND of bad? He only KIND of screws with my family?

I'm not excusing him, Dipper. I'm trying to see how other people look at him to play devil's advocate.

Because I HATE Bill. I hate him sniffing around Lapis and fooling her, I hate him involving himself with the gems, I hate him using his charisma to trick decent people, and I really hate what he does to you and your family.

And you and I are some of the few who know exactly how twisted he is.

And I can't do anything but it's still going to feel all on me every time he does something.

As long as I'm around, I'm not letting him bother you again. Not without making sure something bad happens to him.

Still doesn't help that I feel responsible for not stopping him from basically everything he does though.

Dipper, listen. You can't be everywhere at once, and you definitely can't stop Bill when he has such a wide sphere of influence.

The best we can do is make sure people know about him. I know Garnet'll be watching him extra careful now.
