Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.


YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

[He's still definitely a bit weirded out, but to hell with it. He's dealt with some strange stuff in his time, even if it's more along the lines of alternate dimensions and spirits, he can deal with talking ponies if he has to.]

No. So it's safe to touch, then?

[He...doesn't exactly sound like he's putting a lot of trust in that. But he does feel like he's supposed to be touching it, so that's conflicting him a bit here.]

Yeah, it's REALLY safe! It kinda makes your head feel woozy since it tells you so much, but it doesn't hurt at all!

[He's never been inclined toward trusting people he's just met, but with the temptation to touch it already there, he gets prodded over the edge by your words - and he figures it's hard to feign enthusiasm like that, anyway...

So he'll keep you filed with most of Standard under 'very naive'. Still, he's reaching to touch the thing, so that's a plus.]

Just pain isn't what I was concerned about...

[He'll have made contact with it probably before you can respond to that. His working eye flickers a little from side to side as if it's trying to 'read' the information as it comes, and when he steps away he seems remarkably not-woozy. Or maybe he's just not showing it.]

I've needed to be able to process things quickly for a while now.

[You'd be surprised what surviving three years of your hometown being invaded does for your reaction speed. He doesn't exactly look like he's taking it as a compliment, though, and he looks a little like he's thinking exactly how much to say when you ask that question.]

...Traps and ambushes are quite common where I come from.

[Well, technically they were common back in the Xyz Dimension and he's been in Standard and Synchro more recently, but still.]

[You might catch something like a choking noise as he grits his teeth. He can't judge you for asking, you obviously don't know and you're probably not even from the same universe, let alone the same dimension as him, but that doesn't stop his default reaction to being asked about it.]

It's not something I'll discuss in detail.

[Unless someone triggers him into it, which has happened once before, but that doesn't seem likely here.]

Let's see... about seven weeks! And I'm from the first group the Heart brought here, so there are some other that've been here a TEENSY bit shorter than that!

It only hurt on the way in, I think. I don't remember what happened in that hole too well. It's inconvenient, but I'll learn to compensate.

[He looks at the heart too, but only for a couple of seconds. And then he shrugs, of all responses to have.]

It can explain all it wants. I don't really care either way. Explanations won't do anything for me.

Trust me, I've got a lot of experience with sudden changes in my life.

[Again, things that happen when your hometown gets invaded and destroyed by an interdimensional army when you were like, thirteen. And then when your sister gets kidnapped a few years later and you have to go dimension-travelling to find her. And so on and so forth.]

I'll be fine. Anyway, since you're obviously not from where I came from...do you know if anyone else from my world is here? They'd have something like this.

[He extends an arm; it looks quite different to the duel disks you would have seen, with a round screen and a little square bit to make up the length, but the 'blade' of it, when he flicks it out, will look identical to the others barring colour.

He's kind of hoping Yuto or Ruri might be here, deep down, but he's not getting his hopes up at all.]
