TEST DRIVE

Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for [community profile] cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.

YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

[He just watches as you approach, eyes narrowed slightly, arms folded. Your words get no real reaction out of him while they're being said, but he raises his eyebrow a touch at you cringing. Everyone's more fussed about the location of his gem than he is, apparently.]

If you'd preferred, I could have dragged you back here in the middle of your show.

[And there is no sign at all of that being hyperbole. Also as much as you're trying not to stare at the eye, avoiding it is sending just as clear a message.]

Hmph. Weak-stomached too?

[Shun your eye is a gem, be glad people aren't reacting worse.]
equilibristic: (Give em an act with lots of flash in it)

[personal profile] equilibristic 2015-06-01 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
[He gives a little self-deprecating chuckle and rubs the back of his neck. Figures Kurosaki wouldn't mind having an eye gouged out. Or at least not make much of a spectacle out of it.]

Guess I'm just not as used to this kind of thing as you are.

[Because, yknow, the whole "hardened soldier" bit. He's at least a little less worried about staring at Shun's gem, even if it still freaks him the hell out. He points at it, gingerly.]

Does it hurt?

[Because it looks like it hurts. A lot, in fact.]
revolutionfalcon: (the hell do you want)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2015-06-01 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[Clearly you are not hardcore enough to brush off losing an eye like him. He's at least looking like he's thinking about something other than (or probably as well as) you being incredibly suspicious, so there's that.]

Most people aren't. And no. It hasn't hurt since I woke up here.

[He's pretty sure it hurt a fair bit when he was actually going through the hole, but clearly that doesn't matter right now.]
equilibristic: (What if your hinges all are rusting)

[personal profile] equilibristic 2015-06-01 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[As long as Shun's primary train of thought doesn't concern Dennis and any sort of perceived suspicious activity, everything is fine. It's keeping him off that subject that's the hard part, since talking to Kurosaki is like talking to a brick.

A moody, vengeful brick.
]

Are you sure? It looks pretty uncomfortable. Can you still see out of it?

[Maybe if he keeps asking weird probing questions he'll feel more comfortable.]
revolutionfalcon: (are we really doing this)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2015-06-01 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[True as that may be, if there's anything Shun can notice, it's people trying to divert his attention from the important things. He's playing along for now, but he'll be putting things back on the rails to his desired topic soon enough despite your (obvious) machinations.]

It's fine. And that's none of your concern.

[Like hell he's giving away a weakness to someone he's this suspicious about.]
equilibristic: (Row after row they'll crow vociferous)

[personal profile] equilibristic 2015-06-02 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
[He shrugs, digging his hands into his pockets. Fine, be that way. Don't divulge potentially vital information about your strengths and weaknesses to your good friend and trustworthy associate. Whatever.]

Just trying to look out for my fellow Lancers is all.

Speaking of which, you wouldn't have happened to see any of the others, would you?

[Maybe somebody he can have a relatively normal conversation with?]
revolutionfalcon: (are we really doing this)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2015-06-02 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, that is exactly why he's not giving a straight answer on the blindness, Captain Trustworthy.

He shakes his head briefly - he actually looks a little peeved.]

Two of the Lancers and an LDS student are here, but I haven't met them. Then again, there's not much point asking you about LDS, is there?

[Extremely suspicious look coming right at your face, Dennis. Good luck trying to explain yourself.]
