TEST DRIVE

Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.


YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

[Akane blinks. Wow, you're kind of disconcertingly peppy, whoever you are. Not quite as bad as, say, Azuza or Mariko, but still. Really unfortunately peppy.]

I got kidnapped again, but nobody's trying to kill me yet.

[Realization dawns on her]

Ohhhhh, do you have one of these magic rocks too? This dimension is kinda grabby, yeah.

[Akane nods.]

That's what they told me. I have no idea where it is, though.

[It's certainly not anywhere obvious, like Star's is.]

Hmmmmm.

[Star examines her up to down, walking around her.]

Where have you checked?

Everywhere I can physically see without messing around a lot with mirrors.

[Which means it's probably somewhere on her back? Maybe? Said back is covered by her school uniform, which is a blue jumper over a white blouse.]

Ooh! I can check your back for you if you want!

[Akane looks the other girl over, trying to see if there's any way she might be a habitual crossdresser like Konatsu or Tsubasa.]

Promise me you're really a girl?

Okay, but we're not doing this out in the open.

[There could be boys and perverts and perverted boys (which was most of them) around.]

[Star is capable of sound logic sometimes! Key word sometimes.]

Fair enough! Where do you wanna go?

[Akane looks around, frowning. There doesn't seem to be anywhere good nearby.]

Maybe we could go back to the temple. They said we'd have rooms.

Sounds good to me! I haven't checked mine out yet, either!

Lead the way!

[Akane's new to Waverly--she hasn't even been here a day--so she's not entirely sure if she remembers how to get back to the temple. On the other hand, she's not Ryouga. So after a moment's thought, she strikes out in the direction she thinks the temple is in.]

[And Star will follow! She remembers exactly where the Temple is, but Akane's the one leading! In... close enough to the right direction, she's pretty sure. Mostly sure.

Okay maybe "exactly" wasn't quite the right word...]

[Well, they don't get too side-tracked. They end up on the cliff above the temple first, but then they just have to walk back down.]

[Hey, close enough. Star has plenty of time on her hands.]

[So does Akane. She's obviously not going to school today.]

[But they do get there! Eventually.]

So. If I were a room, where would I be?

Well. My room back home had a wooden duck sign with my name, but somehow I don't think that's going to be the case here.

Maybe it's this big fancy door?

[She hops up onto the platform and the Door reacts to her gem.]

Ooooooh, my forehead rock is glowing! Aw man, this would be awesome at parties!

[And the door opens! To Star's room, but it's a room nonetheless. If blank.]

Huh. So we just go in?

[Time to step through the door!]

I guess so.

[Star steps in, too!]

Now we need... privacy.

[The door to the outside closes and suddenly they're in Star's room! It's very big, and has a lot of stars going up to little half-balconies and things, but there aren't even any windows! Very private!]

[Wow, this is a fancy room. Akane is impressed in spite of herself.]

Okay. I guess... I guess I should take my jumper off.

[So she starts to pull it over her head. Wow, this is awkward. Even if the Western girl with the wand is a girl, she's still a stranger.]

Go ahead! Nobody's watching.

[Well, except her, but... it hasn't exactly occurred to her that that might be an issue, oops.]

[Is she staring at Akane while she takes her jumper off? Because... that's really not helping with the awkwardness.

The gem in question is not on the back of Akane's legs or indeed anywhere now bared by the missing jumper--although there seems to be something a little different about how her white blouse lies on the small of her back than it does elsewhere.]
