TEST DRIVE

Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for

cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.

YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

without so much as a trace of fear, anna approaches the gem, examining it more closely, trying to find some secret engraving.]

Well, this doesn't seem like your regular gemstone! It seems like... a heart. So, maybe, it's got something to s--

[in her searching, anna places her hands on the gem, and suddenly, she's flooded with answers, even to things she didn't know to ask about. and even when she has more questions, some of those are answered too. if she is there for a second or a year, she doesn't know, and when she's received all she can from the gem, she pulls away and stumbles back, touching at her head.]

Elsa...

Anna!

[ elsa isn't the adventurous sort, so of course she hadn't thought to try to touch the thing, at least not yet, but anna's going on and doing it before elsa can stop her. and then she's stumbling back, and elsa is right there to steady her with both hands on her shoulders, concern written all over her face. ]

What happened? Are you all right?

[chapter one: Most Of This Could've Been Avoided If I Slowed Down.

anna doesn't seem too bothered by the information rush, and once it clears itself, she gives her sister a cheerful smile, and a thumbs up. not like that'll assuage all her fears, but it'll help, right?]

The gem... it did have something to say! It explained a lot, way better than I could. Like what that thing on your chest is, and where we are. [a pause, and anna turns to face elsa, offering her elder sister her hand.] It doesn't hurt, I promise!

[ too bad anna most definitely doesn't have a 'slow' setting.

at any rate, elsa looks hesitant, and anna seems fine, but she's not entirely convinced. some consequences take a little while to set in. but.. even elsa can't deny that this strange gemstone feels - well, warm. welcoming. and though she's cautious by nature, she'll take a chance and trust her sister.

she still looks a little unsure, though, when she turns to face the gem, tightly grasping anna's hand with one hand, while the other reaches out toward the large gemstone and - oh. wow. head rush. ]

... Oh.

[anna can't help but be excited that elsa actually took her hand (a sad violin version of "do you want to build a snowman?" plays in her head) and she doesn't let go. facing the unknown is easier with someone right by your side, and if elsa wants her to touch the stone again with her, then she will.

giving elsa's hand a little squeeze, she closes her eyes and listens to the gem, feels the warmth of it and her sister's presence, and waits. the tiny "oh" catches her attention, and she faces the elder princess.]

Are you okay? It wasn't too much, was it?

[ it's a little invasive, for someone like else, who enjoys her privacy - including, you know, privacy in her own head - but perhaps in some cases it's worth it. at least now she understands where they are. ]

No, I.. [ clearing her throat, she pulls her hand from the gemstone to pass it briefly over her eyes. ] I'm all right. It's just a little surprising. What did it tell you?

[she keeps her eyes on elsa, and their hands linked together. she seems okay, and maybe a little disoriented. maybe she should sit down? maybe both of them should sit down... she lets go of elsa's hand (extremely reluctantly...) and sits on the ground, criss-cross applesauce. she offers her hand to her sister yet again, in hopes that she'll follow her lead.]

Well, this is a temple, and that gem is the heart of it... There was a war here, and people are trying to fix their lives, which maybe we could help with? We're not... really people anymore. We're gems too, but we're... kind of different! And we've got gems on us! There was also something about monsters... but it seemed a little fuzzy. Is that what you got?

[ sitting down is probably a fine idea, you go anna. elsa is clearly more than happy to follow her lead, and so she takes anna's offered hand again and settles herself down with her legs neatly folded beside her. her gaze remains wistfully fixed on the gemstone for a little while longer, but soon it's shifting to anna again. ]

More or less, yes.

[ idly, her free hand rises to the gemstone affixed to her chest. ]

I wonder if this means I can't use my power anymore..

[YESSSS. hand holding happens once again! she smiles brightly, then purses her lips together in thought. what if she just... touched the gem again for an answer... would it happen? but why ask when--]

Well, why don't you try? I bet you could do the magic still! Maybe I can do some of my own too! [what a joke.]

[ anna with powers, just what the universe really needs.

at any rate, her sister has the right of it, there's no reason not to try. so elsa lifts her hand, palm up, to call forth a cluster of flurries -- something simple and easy, something she's been able to do for as long as she remembers.

.. but there's nothing. not even a single snowflake. ]

[soon.

anna waits, eyes wide and eager, ready for elsa's powers to show themselves. but when they don't her smile disappears, and she frowns at her sister's hand, like maybe being disappointed in it will bring her powers forth.]

Why didn't anything happen? They can't be gone for good, can they?

[not after all that trouble with the doors and the ice castle and the act of true love and that mess...]

[ no thank you!!

elsa looks wholly alarmed. her eyes are wide and her throat runs dry but she tries again, leaning her weight forward, brows furrowing in concentration. but nothing happens. not even a breath of cold. it feels like she's empty inside, like the well of magic within her, the source she has always pulled upon, has run dry, or disappeared. ]

I'm.. I don't know..

[ she swallows hard. ]

This has never happened before.

[she watches elsa's expression so carefully, mirroring it ever so slightly. she can tell how upset she is, but more than that... she's scared. she scoots closer to her sister, and takes her other hand in her own, trying to calm her down somehow.]

We'll figure out how to get your powers back! Maybe they're just taking a break! This is a new place, and kind of a new body... Maybe they need some time to figure out things too!

[it's a stretch, but anything is possible now. they could be immortal gems, hans could be nice, and elsa's powers could actually be napping.]

[ anna's hands are warm, and that, at least, is a comfort. in a way, it's sort of a .. relief, to not have to worry about her powers. she's only just learned how to control them, after all, and who knows what sort of stressful situations she might find herself in, here. the last thing anyone needs is a wacko ice queen turning this nice little village into snow hill.

so she inhales deeply, lifts her eyes to anna's face, and tries to smile. ]

You're right. Maybe it's for the best, anyway. For now.

[the wacko ice queen would have her wacko sunflower sister to help-- also endless snow cones more like best accident ever.

she smiles kindly to her sister, and squeezes both her hands. they might not have powers, or their kingdom, but they've got each other!]

For now is right! We'll figure it all out later. I think we'll be here for a while, so we've got plenty of time to uncover mysteries and secrets and go on adventures...

[there's no slowing down.]

[ you say these things anna and then someone ends up with a frozen heart and THEN everything is a mess and there are not enough snow cones in the world to chase away the angst!! ]

Adventures..?

[ elsa's cautious side speaking here, she looks hesitant, but she also smiles, warily. ]

Do you think so?

[not enough snowcones in the world to chase away the angst? uh, not with that attitude there isn't.]

Of course! You and I can be a team again, and we'll have so much fun! We'll go find new places, and new magic... It doesn't have to be anyone else, if you don't want to. Just you and me!

[the montage of all the crazy shenanigans they could get up to, along with all the cool things they could find, plays in her head. she's ready for all of it. she was BORN ready.]

[ well it's a good thing we've got you around then, anna, to have the good attitude. ]

A team.. right. Of course.

[ it's a little scary, but also a lot exciting!! ]
