TEST DRIVE
Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.
How this works:
☆ This is a test drive for
cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.
☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.
☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.
☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.
☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.
YOUR OPTIONS:
☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!
☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.
☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.
☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.
You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

No, that wasn't why Jo approached Glacius, though the idea flitted briefly through her head. She approached the strange creature because it was the only one that looked so distinctly out of place that it looked about how she felt.
She came right up to it, perched herself on a waist-high rock that throbbed in a sort of slow-morphing rainbow light, and rested her elbow on her knee and her chin upon her gem-free hand, then gestured with the embedded rhombus of pyrite at him. "I got three things that you have to guess about me. Two are true, one's false." She'd explain the game, but the Heart gave the distinct impression that if Jo wanted to glean more information out of it, this was a test that must be passed.
So, she sat and she brushed the underside of her nose with her thumb as she tried to figure Glacius' glowing green gaze out or pick some kind of familiarity out of it. "First one: Where I come from, the world can't decide if it's on fire or freezing over. Second one: That big throbbing rock over there has a low, sweet voice like Barry White. Third one: I feel like I know you from somewhere before." The last she said with a slow stumble, like she'd meant to say something else instead. She furrowed her brows, deciding this couldn't be possible, and then put on her best poker face to try to make up for the lack.

The alien spends some time thinking on all three statements, slightly tripped up by the mention of a name that has no meaning to him. Was she doing that to hint that the statement was nonsense, or was it supposed to be some other cue? Maybe the latter--he'd been to earth before and while he'd seen both the arctic rims and warmer climates, it didn't sound much like what Jo was describing to him. Then again, as odd as it sounds, there's no way to tell if she's from the same earth that he visited; any amount of poking around would reveal that the influx of other beings now sporting gems around here came from a variety of different universes. Hell, he was one of them. Glacius emits a noise of contemplation, which slips out of gently fluttering gills, and that's when the human drops the third sentiment.
He's startled by the ping of familiarity that he feels ring out at that admittance, and his gaze goes a little bit softer. It's strange, but he knows that one is truth--and maybe after he's done playing along, he can figure out the how. Right now he really has to make a choice. "First and third ones are true. The second is a lie," he responds, folding his arms.
