TEST DRIVE
Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.
How this works:
☆ This is a test drive for
cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.
☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.
☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.
☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.
☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.
YOUR OPTIONS:
☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!
☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.
☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.
☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.
You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

...Why are you here anyway? He stays in the tree, but tilts his head inquisitively. He's not going to leave. He's safe up here. Away from you and any sort of other minions you have to chase him around. And there aren't any more suits you can chase him into, either.
So bad luck for you. He's safe here.]

... it does occur to him that he hasn't climbed a tree in years. he's not sure he remembers how. but, all things considered, that doesn't really matter. the puppet sits down instead, right at the base of the tree, head craned up to stare at the cowering creature holding onto a pine branch for dear life. or, lack thereof. he can wait.
that is a pretty heavy suit. they'll just have to wait and see how long that branch lasts. ]

Why aren't you going away yet!? Did you not depart already? He saw you disappear before he fully bled out. You and the others. Why are you back? Haven't you done enough?
Springtrap's going to stay up here until you leave. Just glaring at you. Things were going just fine until you came back. Now he's in eternal extreme pain. He's an animatronic. He doesn't have to move. He doesn't have to blink. He can wait. He's waited for thirty years.]

the staring contest goes on for a while. Marionette is unrelenting, the book settled in his lap as he locks his gaze with the cowering dead man in the suit up above. he was planning on having fun here, going exploring and playing new games and meeting new friends, but now that he's here, the puppet has a job to do: making sure he stays up in that tree.
after a few long minutes, he waves. hello, awful mister. why don't you come down and say hello? ]

It's hard to ask questions when talking causes pain.]

but he has a job now. with that man up there, cowering in the tree, it means he's also free. and Marionette isn't going to just let him wander around unsupervised. no sireebob.
unfortunately, the puppet interprets that gesture as come here. it's been a long time since he's gone climbing, but he tries his best, leaving his book on the ground to reach up and wrap long arms around the nearest branch to hoist his skinny, gangly body upwards. he does the same with the next branch, feet slipping every once in a while as he tries to climb. this is hard. ]

...Unfortunately, your dreams come true. A branch eventually snaps and Springtrap comes tumbling to the ground, letting out a hoarse yet surprised wail.]

[ that was the most satisfyingly hilarious thing the puppet has ever seen in his entire life. and afterlife, for that matter.
for a very long minute, Marionette just stares at the crumpled heap on the ground. once it all process, he points, and laughs. except not really, since he has no voice, but the way he tips his head back and shakes his shoulders is pretty telling. ]
