TEST DRIVE
Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.
How this works:
☆ This is a test drive forcosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.
☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.
☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.
☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.
☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.
YOUR OPTIONS:
☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!
☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.
☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.
☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.
You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

slowly, she nods. even though her face is as red as a tomato, she somehow manages to retain a straight face throughout this whole ordeal.
then, she sluggishly waves her arm at her cheek, as if to dismiss the gem and say "it's nothing." ]

The gem won't hurt you! So don't worry about that! Besides you look cute with it! Not. Like. You didn't look cute before! I'm sure you looked great without the gem on your face. [ABORT. ABORT...] I mean, it just adds a certain charm now!
[wow, anna. could you BE any more awkward. she smiles and giggles slightly, hoping she hasn't offended the girl.]

[ she mouths it, and sort of wheezes out a tiny, sheepish laugh too (but it's not like anna can tell she's faking it if there's no voice attached).
despite her... calming(?) words, darcy is still panicked as heck. she wonders if this girl has a gem too, but instead of just ASKING, she extensively looks at every inch of anna. ]

for a moment, anna is confused and slightly concerned about being bodyscanned like that, but she figures it out quickly enough.] Oh! Um, mine is under my clothes. [and, for the sake of trust and not for modesty, anna unbuttons her shirt, and pulls it and the top part of her bodice away from her left breast, showing a pink sapphire over her heart.] They show up in different places! It all depends on what the person is like, I think! I've seen people with theirs on their chest, their backs, their foreheads... You must be a very unique person if your gem is on your cheek!

she rubs the edge of her gem again, still while staring at the pretty pink one in awe. when anna calls her unique, she points to herself with a slightly surprised, barely noticeable change in expression with a question mark practically floating above her head. ]

it seems that darcy didn't receive too many compliments-- a pretty girl looking so surprised at one was a dead giveaway. anna smiles and nods enthusiastially, putting her fists on her hips.] I meant you, yes! You seem like a very special person-- like my sister! I bet you two would get along great! She's kind of shy, too. Birds of a feather flock together, right?

anna catches it, surprisingly, and smiles brightly.] Oh, thank you! I was worried I was more of a pest than anything... I've been told I'm a lot to handle, but I'm glad you don't mind me too much.
[she wonders how badly darcy's throat hurts, and in succession, how close the town is. maybe some hot tea would help! it's not difficult communicating with a mute, but it's not always the easiest.]
Would you like to get some tea? Maybe some chocolate chip cookies? They might help!

she must think she just lost her voice from a cold or something; darcy takes a minute, pondering over how to show her that that isn't the case. this has never happened before...
either way, darcy wonders how in the ever-loving name of mother nature chocolate chip cookies would help a sick person's throat. the tea she can understand, but cookies?
she shakes her head once more and offers up that same smile from before. an 'x' is made with her hands in the air over her throat and she mouth one important word. ]

anna watches darcy very carefully, then jumps slightly at the discovery, hand flying to her mouth. perhaps it was because of a sea witch? or a curse? or maybe an accident... the possibilities were endless, but none of them made her smile.] I'm so sorry! I... I hadn't realised. I just thought you were sick!
[she feels awful for not picking up on that proper, but she offers a gentle smile, hoping to fix the situation.] Well, if it's okay with you, we can share my voice for now! I think I've got enough of one for the both of us.

she's more than glad to see anna making a resilient recovery in the end and smiles back for real this time, though the real smile pretty much looks the same as the ones before it, plus a blush. ]
