Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.


YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

I don't think so either, but some people are definitely taking this a little more easily.

I just wish I knew a little more about why we were all specifically brought here, other than we followed through a hole.

Hmm! Well, it can't just be about the hole, can it? After all, if it were only a hole, anyone could crawl in and appear here. Maybe they're very...selective holes?

That's what I'm thinking. I figure maybe you were chosen because of the life you lead back where you're from, and me because I know actual Crystal Gems!

...You know what I'm thinking? Perhaps we should compile a list of the people here and what sets them apart from others where they're from, and see if there's some sort of correlation! Even if we don't figure one out, we'll all know each other a little better, don't you think?

I can't say I have, but now I suppose I should.

He's already starting to keep notes. It's a good idea. But I'm sure it'll help to start keeping notes of our own.

Definitely! We might notice things he doesn't, or vice-versa!

At this point, whatever we can learn and give to each other is best!

I wonder if we might wind up bringing out a leader of our group.

Do you think we'll need one? We've apparently got that gem telling us what's what, don't we?

A gem can't guide us and lead us though.

Group harmony isn't something that happens instantly. Usually it helps to have someone the team readily trusts.

That's true.

I guess...a leader will emerge over time, right? That's how these things tend to work.

I think its more likely we'll be the brainy assistants though.

Maybe, maybe not. Leadership is a tricky thing to tack down. Almost anyone can be a leader.

Yes, that true. For all I know, we might be in separated groups, so we might have to swap.

That would be weird. I don't think I could lead people like that.

[Jane shrugs. It's a little unsettling that she's starting to accept their situation a little.]

We'll see in time, I guess. Gee, that's the phrase of the day, isn't it?

[Connie finds people being gems abnormal: the gems, however, are familiar territory].

Unfortunately, yes, until we're able to get more of an idea about what sort of people we'll be teamed with.

So does magic actually exist in your world?

Magic? Um...well, I wouldn't say it does directly. I mean, it didn't on Earth, but it does in the game. But, at the same time, it seemed to manifest itself in different ways before we got into the game. It's sort of complicated, and even I don't understand it all.

[connie_maheswaran]

In a way, I think being a gem is like that...or at least, being the friend of someone who is a gem is like that. You never know what's going to happen, when the magic you see is going to attack you or make you see something amazing.

I can't even predict what we'll see once we leave here!
