TEST DRIVE

Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.


YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

Huh? [That explains a lot. In her mind, she had imagined little rocks rolling around, shoving things together to make temples, falling on the head of intruders... Bodies were probably more useful.]

So they're rock people?

Yeah! Their real bodies are the rocks, but they sort of project human-shaped bodies from those rocks.

[ohmygah]

Ohhhhhh, okay.

[She pauses again to consider.]

So, does that mean it looks like they got rocks sticking outta their body?

Yeah! Each of them has a rock somewhere sticking out of them. Like Pearl, who I mentioned before, she's got hers on her forehead. And Steven has his as his bellybutton!

[ohmygah]

So is that not some kinda piercing or something?

[She chooses to take this moment to point at the weird shape under his shirt in the stomach area.]

Huh? [Greg looks down, sees a lump on his lower chest that wasn't really there before.] What the--? [He pulls the collar of his wifebeater back so he can see it and it's--]

A gem? But I'm not a Gem--?

[It's pink and smooth like Pearl's and kind of shaped like a fat oval and oh my gosh, it really is a gem. Shoot.]

[ohmygah]

[Mr Universe seemed Alarmed.

That probably wasn't great.]

Does it feel weird? Is it stuck? Are you gonna be okay, Mr. Universe?!

[Greg wants to freak out. He wants to freak out so badly. But there is a little Japanese girl here--oh fine, a teenage Japanese girl, but not a very big one--and he can see how dismayed she already looks. He doesn't need to freak her the heck out too.

Deep breaths, Greg. Deep breaths.]

Um. I think so? But it shouldn't be there! I'm a human!

[ohmygah]

Maybe it got stuck there when we arrived here? Like, a bubble popped and the bubble stuff was all sticky so it stuck there?

[MAYBE THAT MAKES SENSE SHE'S NOT SURE.]

But it's under my shirt! Wouldn't it have stuck to the outside of my shirt?

[And-- and it feels like it's part of him? Oh man oh man oh man.]

[ohmygah]

Oh. Erm. Uhhhhhh.

Maybe we need ta pull it out!

I dunno if that's such a good idea, Ayumu...

[IT FEELS LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE THERE. HE DOESN'T WANT IT, BUT IT FEELS LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE THERE ANYWAY. THIS IS SO WEIRD.]

But if its stuck there, maybe its shedding crystals in yer stomach!

[Definitely taking a closer look at it and tapping it a little to test it out.]

If it were shedding anything, it would be cracked! It's not cracked!

[It doesn't LOOK cracked! At least not to Greg.]

[ohmygah]

Then we gotta get it out before it cracks! For yer health!

[And now she's definitely pulling on the gem. That's probably not the best idea.

Kinda weird how it might look like something's shining from the back of her skull though.]

Ow! Stop that, Ayumu!

[It's... oh gosh, it's part of him, isn't it?]

Ayumu! Turn around! I need to see the back of your head!

[ohmygah]

[She stops her pulling at that last part and looks up in confusion.]

H-huh? What for?

[cometkin]

There's something shiny about it.

[He knows exactly how weird that sounds.]

[ohmygah]

[Her head is shiny? There hasn't been any particular shampoo or anything she knows of that can do that. At least none that she has, hair is always shiny in television. Maybe there's some kinda hair polisher out there? She doesn't know where anyone would get any of that either.]

But I don't have any kinda hair polish.

[cometkin]

Yeah, but something's shining anyway!

[Come on, Ayumu, just let him look at the back of your head!]

[ohmygah]

Wellllll... ooookkaaaaaaay.

[And she slowly turns around. Kinda hoping this isn't a prank.]

[There's a gem there, isn't there?]

[ohmygah]

[There's totally a shiny purple fluorite gem there on the back of her skull.]

[He had a terrible feeling that was going to be the case.]

Uh, hey, Ayumu? You've got a gem too.

[This is Worrying.]
