TEST DRIVE
Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.
How this works:
☆ This is a test drive for
cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.
☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.
☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.
☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.
☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.
YOUR OPTIONS:
☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!
☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.
☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.
☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.
You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

Obviously she needs someone to explain things to her.

She's been abducted. Since when were Sinners considered worth expending resources on? Of course, she is a pretty big deal, as far as faceless expendable cogs in the machine go. Ah well.
"Hello. Is there a facility I should report to?"
no subject
no subject
...eh. She should probably disarm herself.
Here, Jimmy, have a machete. And an assault rifle. Might as well take her first-aid kits, too. And the grenades. And the hoverboard.
"That's...most of the things I was carrying, sir. Am I going to be assigned a cell, or should I simply remain on standby?"

[Heloise blearily lifts herself up off the ground, looking around this... cave? Is it a cave? Sort of looks like one, that she's now apparently found herself in.]
What the...?
[She doesn't realize it yet, but there's a piece of rubellite now fixed to her forehead, over an additionally striking scar. When she spots Jimmy just up ahead though, she's instantly much less concerned.]
Jimmy? Where are we?
no subject
Heloise!
[He doesn't answer her question just yet, dropping to one knee as he quickly looks her over. The location of her gem is immediately evident, though he decides not to draw attention to that just yet. He's just glad to see her here with him.]
Are you alright?
no subject
[Likewise, Jimmy being here was the most comforting thing she could ask for. She knows everything's okay, and always will be, if he's around.]
Just a bit of a headache...
[She puts her hand to her forehead, where her scar is (or should be), but feels something... unusual.]
Huh...?
[She continues to touch it. It's smooth, and definitely not skin. Of course, she can't see it, and this isn't the kind of place where there's probably a mirror around.]
Is there something on my head?
no subject
[Jimmy shifts to lean back on his heels, pulling down the collar of his shirt so she can see the edge of the stone embedded in his chest.]
It's a gemstone. But don't worry, everyone's sposed to have one when they show up here. And...yours is on your forehead, looks like!
[He reaches up to brush her bangs back a little so he can see for himself. He can't quite tell what gem it is- he didn't know what his own was at first, either- but it is rather pretty.]

[Jimmy turns with a slight smile and- ...oh woah. Woooah.]
Hey....did you just- ...was that you?
no subject
Did I juuuuust what? Make you come here? Because NOPE, not me!
no subject
Of course, it'll only take him a second to adjust as he grins, putting his hands on his knees as he leans over to get a better look.]
Naw, I didn't think so! ...think y'could help me out a little, though?
Where is here, exactly?

You. [He manages to hiss as he approaches Jimmy, towering over him, wings twitching like a flustered bird.]
What is the meaning of this? [He practically gestures to himself... And the everything else. He's a little more than worked up.]
no subject
Woooah. Uh, well, you're at the temple right now! What is it you wanna know? I'll try to help!
no subject
Why am I here?!
And most importantly, why am I, Lord Starscream, of such insignificant size?
no subject
[Because...all of that makes sense.]
I can't not tag Jimmy, of course!
...up until she distractedly moves around a particularly large bubble without looking and ends up quite literally running into him. Backing into him, to be more precise, which does a handy job of snapping her out of her thoughts.]
Ack! I, um, that is... e-excuse me! I didn't think anyone else was here.
[She adjusts her glasses as she regains her nerves, craning her neck up at him. Wow, he's tall. And... normal looking enough to seem weirdly out of place in a mystical gem temple.]
You don't know anything about this place, do you?
\o/
[Jimmy smiles down at the new face, seemingly unbothered by being suddenly bumped into like that.]
I don't know as much as other folks, but I do know a lot! This is the temple- all these gems you see in these bubbles were corrupted gem monsters that had to be defeated.
[He points at a bubble nearby for emphasis as he talks.]
no subject
[Something like the Sunstone, then? She doesn't seem surprised or much fazed by this revelation, in any case.]
So were these gems originally a power source or magic amplifier before they were... corrupted?
[After all, that huge heartlike gem sure looks like some kind of power source to her.]
no subject
[He says, as...casual as one can say something like that.]

AHH! HELP! FISH OUTTA WATER, CALL 911! AHHH, I-
I...
Oh. Uhhhm. Huh! False alarm, dudes. I guess I'm ok?
[He's just gonna keep laying on the floor for a bit. That seems like a good idea while he tries to figure what's happening! And why he's not choking to death..]
no subject
Uuuuuh...are you sure?
no subject
[He sits up and looks around the room before settling on Jimmy.]
Whooah, bro! Either you are the itty-bittiest person in the world, or I got BIG.
