Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.


YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

Ralph's a little surprised that Akoya's only been here for twenty minutes.]

You got here a little while before me, then. Wonder if anybody else showed up at the same time...

I've heard there are others around here, but I haven't exactly gone out of my way to find them.

Wonder how many others there are. Guess they're our roommates or neighbors or somethin'.

[The heart gem had given him a lot of information in a short amount of time and he's still processing it all. Everybody lived in this temple, but they also had their own rooms, so was it kind of like an apartment building?]

Seems that way... Hopefully they are... Pleasant enough.

[Ralph shrugs.]

Yeah, though, this place appears to be big enough that if you found somebody you didn't like, it'd probably be pretty easy to avoid 'em.

Hmph... I'll see what I can do to clean up around here. Perhaps I'll see you around.

[Ralph's a little more literal-minded, so he takes Akoya's words at face value. The temple does seem like it could probably use a good cleaning.]

You probably will, I figure I should learn more 'bout this place since I'm stuck here. Cleanin's not really my strong suit, but I could probably give somethin' of a hand.

[He'd be more suited to helping move things out of the way while the others did the sweeping and mopping, that is, if there was any cleaning of that sort that was going to go on.]

[Ralph's known more for his strength than his intelligence, but he's not completely lacking in that department. He's still pretty clueless on a lot of things, though.

At the mention of filth, he looks around the cave.]

Looks like it's probably mostly dust, maybe some mold around the waterfalls.

[Once he finds out exactly what kind of 'cleaning' Akoya has in mind, he won't mind there being some distance between them. Though, he'd probably do what he can to stop those his plans from being enacted.]

[Akoya basically thinks everything ugly is stupid as well. He's as shallow as a kiddy pool.]

I suppose so... This place needs refurbishing. It's on the brink of ruin.

Yeah, I hope it doesn't collapse in on us while we're here. I guess takin' care of the place'll give us somethin' to do while we're stuck.

[He didn't mind being on repair duty, however, he's so big and clumsy, he might do more harm than good.]

I think that'll give us a heads-up when we've got that other stuff to take care of.

[It seems like they're free to do what they please, until they've got a mission or something that pops up.]

There's gotta be one 'round here somewhere. Though, if there's one lyin' around the temple, it probably needs cleanin' first.

[However, the information he got from the heart gem indicates that there's probably more to this place than just the temple, there's probably better options for obtaining a teapot elsewhere.]

Good idea. Even if they don't, there's probably a machine or somethin' you can use to swap it for somethin' else.

[Between the machines in the arcade that changed dollars into quarters and the fact that many planets had a way to exchange money, he's rather optimistic about that possibility.]

That's a good idea, I didn't need money back at the arcade, so I'll hafta look into findin' a way to make some here.

[What sort of jobs would they have for a displaced soldier? He's not known anything else, but if he wants to survive here, he'll have to adapt.]

[Like a commoner? Ew. Akoya has no skills besides being beautiful. At least Ralph could move boxes for restaurants or something.]

What kinda job did you have back at your home?

[Ralph's sort of looking for ideas, he doesn't have a clue what kind of jobs gamers have or if they differ from jobs inside of the games.]

"I didn't work at all. I was a student... and I don't need to work at all to support myself?"

[You can hear the haughty oozing from his voice]

[Ralph's definitely picking up on the uppity tone, but he's doesn't understand where it's coming from. He's not familiar with rich people, everyone was pretty much on the same playing field in the arcade and gamers didn't really talk much about their situations while playing games.

Akoya not working because he's a student makes sense, though.]

I'd imagine it'd be tough to work and go to school at th' same time.

[He doesn't remember much of his days in regular classrooms, but he's got a few more memories of his time in military training.]

In Japan, it's not really seen as acceptable that a student should be working as they study. And a man from a family such as mine should not be working amongst the lower classes, if at all.

Lower classes? Are you some kinda royalty?

[Ralph's starting to pick up that there's a difference between Akoya and himself. While there aren't exactly classes in the arcade, there are princesses and kings and even a president or two. However, everybody always has what they need or ways to obtain them, so there's not an extraordinary amount of perks to the positions.]
