TEST DRIVE
Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.
How this works:
☆ This is a test drive for
cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.
☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.
☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.
☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.
☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.
YOUR OPTIONS:
☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!
☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.
☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.
☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.
You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

AAAH IT'S JOHN HOLY COW
[Jane's words come to a screeching halt. She had been deeper in the inner sanctum, examining the bubbled gems herself (but not touching them) when she heard that unfamiliar voice. Of course she responded! It was only natural to be friendly and welcoming in this situation, even if there were a rare few folks who...didn't understand the concept of friendly and welcoming. Or the decency of privacy.
She's stopped because she sees John now, and he can see her if he looks her way, God-Tier pajamas and all. Though the symbol on his isn't recognizable to her, there's an awful sinking feeling in her stomach that anyone with such an outfit would have, at some point, come into contact with Sburb.
Plus, the resemblance to herself - and Jake, of all people - is unmistakable.
...She's kind of speechless at the moment John, sorry about that.]
oh my gosh a jane!!
[Similar screeching halt goes here. Because--- it feels like forever ago, but it's hard to forget ghost paradox clones of yourself and your friends. Especially when---
She looks kinda like him, right? Just-- a girl, obviously that's different, but-- the hair and the glasses and the--]
Nanna? [He sounds excited and a little terrified at the same time. What if he has it wrong? Or, uh, if he has it right, that could be bad, too. But nonghost Nanna? Hopefully with nonghost cookies? Yeah, he thinks --- how could that be bad?]
Duuuude!!!
Wait.
Wait a tick.
If he looks like her Poppop, and he's a God Tier, and he's definitely not old, then that means...he's her teen Poppop? The one she and her friends had been waiting so long for, along with their teen guardians? Why is he alone, where are his friends? Why did he just call her Nanna???]
Um...a-actually...it's, it's Jane. [She slowly raises a hand to wave at him.] But I'm...fairly certain I've been waiting for you...!

The scared bit's gone. Only excited now. So the rest, and there is indeed a 'the rest' here, is more freeform babble than anything cool or planned or refined. Not that John's particularly capable of those three things on a good day, but y'know, the thought that counts and all that.
For a second, everything still feels hanging and awkward. And then he'll try to hug her -- and that will go here -- and everything'll make sense. On his end, anyway. Like, if you think he is not gonna hug his alternate universe teen grandma, you are sadly mistaken.] I'm so glad you're here, I've been waiting so long!

[It is like sliding a key in a lock - and turning it, and hearing the mechanisms click! There's a strange relief in it, too, like...like all the turmoil she and her friends had been through, all the doubt they had, all the frustration, it really wasn't for nothing. These other kids do exist, and they've been on their way, and - !
Whoa okay that's a hug. A hug is happening. Jane laughs, the signature "hoo hoo hoo" soft and elated, and she hugs him back.]
This is amazing, I...you're here! How did you - wait, no, it was the holes, right? Oh my gosh, we were all waiting and...

Hehehe, it seems like everybody was waiting! [Cabin fever is the worst. He was even starting to seriously despise Con Air. Being cooped up doesn't sit well with him, who knew?] Maybe-- maybe now that we're here, something even better'll happen. Like... oh man, what if more of our friends could come?!
[He wants to meet everyone. The other kids from there, the friends he has now, the people he has no clue exist-- it all makes up for the weird gem in him right now.]
no subject
They could! It feels like almost anything is possible here!! [Especially now.]
