TEST DRIVE - Part 3

Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for [community profile] cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.

YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.
relaxfriend: lets torture someone helpless and unfortunate (ive got an idea for some fun)

C IS FOR CRAZY

[personal profile] relaxfriend 2015-09-30 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
[Gary pretty much spent most of his time asking for other people's truths and lies as it was a fairly effortless way to get information, even if most of it was useless. But for every useless bit of truth he got, there were a couple of good truths (and lies, because the lies people pick says a lot about them sometimes) that were interesting enough to file away for later.

What he really appreciates is when people are so forthcoming that they stand right in front of him and start to volunteer said information. And this one was a bit of a doozy. If only because wow, someone has issues. And it's totally not him.

Gary eyes the other teen up and down before a smirk tugs at his lips.]

Judging by the way you started out and just your appearance in general screaming 'attention whore', I'm going to rule out the last one.

[He will let that one sink in while he continues to eye IV, arms crossed while one hand holds is chin. Yes he takes these types of guessing games very srsly.]
gimmickpuppets: (Ⅳ oh my what a surprise!)

the CRAZIEST

[personal profile] gimmickpuppets 2015-09-30 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
[ See. He'd approached this guy because he looked like a boring version of himself. Even the scar's on the same side of his face. But with that kind of response, it takes everything IV has to not immediately let his expression fall and take offense to the unnecessary commentary behind this guy's reasoning. ]

I didn't ask for an essay; just figure it out.

[ So maybe that came out a little snippier than IV had intended, but he at least tries to cover it up with a charming smile as he gives a slight bow, bending at the waist just a tad to do so. ]

Of course, if it helps you to speak out loud, then by all means.

[ Good impressions mean everything, after all. ]
relaxfriend: (i mean WE'RE talking over this school)

[personal profile] relaxfriend 2015-09-30 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, but it's too late to come back from that, IV. He takes note of that snippy reply and grabs onto it.

He matches the smile back - almost mockingly so.]

Oh, but it does. [And then the smile is dropped down to a smarmy smirk again.]

So, let's visit the first one. [Because the love of watching others suffer is one he can relate too c:] Seems unwise to admit something like that, doesn't it? Then again, mentioning siblings - or lack thereof - seems strange. A lot of people don't have siblings. Why bring it up? Unless you've always wanted them. But no...you're clearly attention starved. Why would you want to share it...?

[Staring IV down with a calculative squint, dragging this out as much as possible while watching for his reaction.

Yeah he's having too much fun with this.]

[personal profile] gimmickpuppets 2015-09-30 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
[ ...

Screw this guy.

IV slowly lifts a hand to rest it on his hip, the fingers of his loose-hanging one tapping lightly against his pants as he thinks, actually thinks for once, before responding. Amazing. ]

Or... maybe you're just thinking too much into it. I'll admit, it's fascinating that you're even bothering to give it much thought, but is it necessary? For example, what about me makes you think I'm starved for attention?

[ Please, enlighten him. It doesn't really dawn on him that his natural thankyouverymuch appearance is flashy, after all. ]

I could give you a more boring list, though. I mean, if you're having too much trouble with this one.

[ Oh snap. ]
relaxfriend: (jimmy you baboon)

[personal profile] relaxfriend 2015-09-30 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Gary chuckles lightly.]

Oh you poor thing. It actually doesn't require that much thought. It's all in the way you dress, your hair, the fact that you opened with "I like to watch people suffer" - whether true or not, you're not exactly discreet.

I think it's obvious I'm having the exact opposite of trouble with this one. Are you evading?
gimmickpuppets: (Ⅳ my poison's this intoxication)

[personal profile] gimmickpuppets 2015-09-30 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
[ 'Your hair'. That's enough to get him to scowl juuust a little - which is likely the exact wrong facial expression to make. ]

My hair is natural.

[ He just had to defend it, but there's no way he's going on a tangent about the clothing choice. He'll always blame that on III, even if that isn't entirely the case. ]

It got you to stop and answer, didn't it? I'd say opening with that was a fantastic idea. [ IV you're just proving him right. ]
relaxfriend: into the grinder with you (oooh fresh meat)

[personal profile] relaxfriend 2015-09-30 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Holding up his hands and laughing lightly.] Oh, my mistake.

[How the hell is that hair real? Whatever he's not interested in that right now.]

But! My point exactly, friend. [Of course he makes the word 'friend' sound as unfriendly as possible.] That statement was an attention grabber - much like yourself. Thanks for the clarification.

Also, I noticed you completely glossed over my mentioning your second statement just now. That's the lie, isn't it? You have at least one sibling and you don't get enough attention from mommy and/or daddy. [Faux sad-face. :C] Either they're younger and therefore soak up all the attention you so desperately want or they're older and better than you in every way. That's why you picked that one, isn't it? D'awww...

[personal profile] gimmickpuppets 2015-09-30 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[ IV wouldn't mind so much that he guessed it, if it wasn't for the fact that this asshole was taunting him. For all he knew, he was completely wrong.

Never mind that he's completely right on every account.

IV ignores that faux sad-face, his right hand flexing slightly, almost like he's trying to make the gem bulge out and pop off his hand (he kind of wishes it would, honestly). ]

Truly, it's none of your business why, but yeah, you're right about one thing. Siblings. [ IV you just gave him more ammo with one word you idiot. ] Everything else you're trying to guess at here could be completely wrong, or completely right. But you don't need to know that.

So now that you've guessed? Get out of my face.

[ Yeah, he stopped caring about his little act. Good job, Gary, you've gone and pissed him off. ]
relaxfriend: (telling lies and ruining lives)

[personal profile] relaxfriend 2015-09-30 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[If Gary's shit eating grin is anything to go by, it's pretty obvious he too enjoys the suffering of others. Oh the irony.]

But you see, you just told me everything I needed to know. [Gary no you don't need to know anything about this guy stop being creepy.] Your reaction alone tells me I'm right. I mean, why else are you getting so defensive?
gimmickpuppets: (Ⅳ fill lungs with smoke for the last tim)

[personal profile] gimmickpuppets 2015-09-30 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[ There are two very clear options here. Either take what Gary says and use it as a means to be disgustingly pleasant to show he's not bothered at all, or take it and just add to his frustration without thinking things through.

Guess which one he's going to choose? ]

I'm not getting defensive, I just want you out of my way. I have other things to do than listen to a brat like you. [ IV he's like the same age as you shut up. ] You did what I wanted, so scram.
relaxfriend: (i mean WE'RE talking over this school)

[personal profile] relaxfriend 2015-09-30 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not in your way. The only one in your way is you. If you want to run off and cry then do it. Don't boss me around.

[Like who do you think you are, IV??]

Go on. [Waving him off casually as if he's some little kid.] Run along now! You're no longer entertaining me.
gimmickpuppets: (Ⅳ and assumed that it was all in vain)

[personal profile] gimmickpuppets 2015-09-30 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He opens his mouth to say 'I was here first', but then promptly shuts it, because even he realizes how juvenile that sounds.

Fuck. Just take a deep breath... Okay. Good. ]

No longer entertaining you? Heh. You'd think otherwise if you knew what I was capable of.

[ With that, he smirks and turns away (maybe a little too dramatically shh) with a hand lifted in the air as if in a wave. ]

Next time we meet, I'll let you have a taste of my fanservice!

[ Always needing to have the final word, there he goes. Or tries. ]
relaxfriend: (you gonna play nice or what)

[personal profile] relaxfriend 2015-09-30 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[Of course Gary is always interested to see what people are capable of. But that's going to have to wait. He's looking forward to really making this guy crack in due time.

For now he'll just stand there smugly with his hands in his pockets, looking absolutely pleased with himself as IV turns to leave.]

I think to be effective that would require someone to give a rat's ass about you.

[He also has no desire to find out what his "fanservice" is. Ew.]
