TEST DRIVE - Part 3

Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.


YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

[He's quiet at the encouragement. Mainly because this is Panem. Someone on some side would find a way to mess it up. Or bring in a horrible disease. Or Event Horizon. And then it would be televised. And everyone would die or be maimed in some way and the Capitol or Thirteen, he's a bit wary after the education videos, among other things would say it was a victory or the other side's fault or something. And the actual problem with the teleporter would be ignored.

What kind of monsters? Mutations, magic?

Ugh... kind of a mix of magic and alien. I'll give you the basic rundown. We're in a place called Waverly Bay which aside from the monsters, is a pretty normal town. We got brought here and turned into Gems, beings who are, as the name implies, gemstones. Our bodies are physical projections of the gemstones. The Gems have given us a power and you'll unlock others later and we were brought here along with others form other worlds to fight these monsters. [Yep, basic]

...So basically otherworldly abominations not entirely bound by normal laws of physics.

[THAT'S FOUR. FOUR WORLDS, FOUR INSTANCES OF OTHERWORLDLY ABOMINATIONS. AND THE FIRST TIME HE'S THE OTHERWORLDLY ABOMINATION.

....Ok, three, but...he says four because of the Initiate. That troll was just generally incomprehensible on a good day unless you re-heard what he said several times.

Meanwhile, he's going to just start searching for the supposed gem he has. Somehow, though, at the same time he...believes Donnie.]

Any idea how we were turned into Gems?

Currently? No. I ended up going into a hole, fell into here, and poof! I was a Gem! [He points to the Amethyst in his forehead] Gems can be anywhere. The head, you hand, the back of your shell, anywhere on your physical being. We technically don;t nee dto eat and sleep now, but we can if we want to. And our Gems access the room that we stay in and the room can look like whatever you want it to. You just can't take anything out of it or it disappears.

[He lifts his visor to check his own - bandana-less - forehead. Nope. Not on the back of his head either, or he would have felt it earlier.

He continues to pat it down.]

No need to eat or sleep, huh? Like an actual gem...

[He's still going to look for a drink, though, after this.]

Exactly. The Gems also give us powers. You only have one right now and you're kind of going to have to figure out what it is. I have three. For example...

[He just casually lifts his hand and causes a nearby rock to fly into his grasp.]

I have Earth manipulation powers.

[COMPLIMENT TO DONNIE'S POWER TO COME LATER NOW, Don found his gem. And he looks a bit annoyed about it.]

Did you find your Gem? Great! Where is it?

[He sees the annoyed look but he'll wait for an answer before addressing it.]

...oh. That... that sucks. [There was no other way to put it.] Well... after you get used to it you'll barely realize that it's there. So lets see... oh, umm... there's one mroe kind of important thing that I need to tell you about. And that's... well ugh... my brothers are here too. As in my brothers form my universe. [Well... for the mst part anyways.]

A little, yes.

[Its more for personal reasons for why it sucks. Strategically, its actually a place which makes it difficult to hurt the gem. But personally? Its...problematic.

However, the mention of who else is there causes a slight spark of worry in his eyes to appear.]

Your...brothers?

Yeah... well kind of. They're all from the future compared to me, a few months ahead at least. Leo and Raph went through some different events than Mikey did. Raph was... brainwashed by Shredder apparently. We don;t know where he is, but he and I got into a fight and... I think he may be him again now. But there isn't much that can be done unless the guys and I find him. [He sighed] I haven't told the guys anything about Equestria. Leo knows about my time int he Digital World, that's it. I never mentioned you tot hem or... or anything about what you've been through. So they don't know anything, so you don't have to worry about them jumping to any conclusions. If you ever want to tell them about all that happened, you can on your own time.

[Don closes his eyes and nods. So they don't know. Good.]

I think I'll try and lay low, then, for now. Figure out what I'm capable of, sort out my memories before I talk to them.

[Knowing his brothers, he'll have...hmm. A week, tops. He'll need to get cracking.]

I'll be honest, I wouldn't even know where to start if I did talk to them. Shell - I don't even know where to start with you. You missed a lot of stuff on Equestria.

I know. Like I sad, you can do all of that on your own time. It's... not gonna be easy to avoid them, Mikey especially. But don't worry about telling them anything until you're ready to. Until then, take the time to sort yourself out and get situated, II;ll be here to help you with whatever you need.

...Yeah.

[He knows. Both about Mikey (regardless of universe, really) and about...Donnie. He'd help. He knows that.]

Yeah, I definitely have a lot of catching up to do with you, at the very least.

Then we'll go from there and you can work your way up to meeting my brothers.

Okay, so what happened in Equestria since I got pulled out>

We did? So then Calice can't do anything to anyone again? That's great!

Yeah. We managed to save Twilight from being Cálice, since she was just really corrupted by the Corruption. Really really corrupted, but we managed to wake her up.

[brain_behind_purple]

That's great! Can't believe I missed that! But as long as everything's okay now, that's what matters. [And then worried face] So then... I guess you got sent back to Panen after?

[polyturtle]

[The smile that had been on his face is disappearing at that. Because the answer is that obvious.]

Yeah. Been there since. Though I get the sense that war is...definitely coming.

[Really, at this point, its only a matter of time before the keg blows.]

The positive thing that's happened is that I'm no longer in the Arena. I got picked up by the rebels after I was revived, a year ago. I've been with them since.

Well... ugh... that's good? I guess? [How do you try to be encouraging about something like this?!] I'm sorry you got sent back to that nightmare. If I could help you get out of it, I'd do it. But... at least for right now you're here and not there. They're super tolerant of everything around here.

That's true.

[Of course, that means eventually he'll likely end back up in Panem. Its difficult to be encouraging when you go from "things threatening X worlds" to "ancient Rome called, they want you to tone it down because its a bit too shelled up."]

The natives aren't distrusting of us, then?

From what I can tell? No. I've been here for five months and as long as we do what we were brought here to do and get rid of the monsters, they're good. Shell, they don't even care that the guys and me are mutants. I don't think they're feel like some ponies did about off-worlders back in Equestria here.

So no Tom Shanks to inflate any misunderstandings? Good.
