TEST DRIVE - Part 3
Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.
How this works:
☆ This is a test drive for
cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.
☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.
☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.
☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.
☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.
☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.
YOUR OPTIONS:
☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!
☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.
☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.
☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.
You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

[He held up his hand.] I don't know what you're talking about, [he said flatly.] These are my HANDS.
[What was this, chat time with Harley? Well, he was in no mood.] Have you seen Wyldstyle and Gandalf anywhere? They were right behind me.
no subject
Oh....my....god....
[She holds up her own hands]
These, these are hands! Those are claws....like a toy or something!
no subject
How do you function with hands like those? [He held up one gloved hand and opened and closed it before he pulled his glove off and well, there's a yellow hand under there.]
Clearly we're from alternate universes. One where you have... less blocky outfits.
no subject
This is the most amazing alternate universe I've ever heard of!
Lemme guess, I should look more like this?
[There's a glowing red light from behind her which engulfs her body as it shifts and changes becoming...a rather accurate recreation of what a person from his universe should look like]
no subject
[Creepy on a scale of... wait, does this mean that she was impersonating one of his companions all this time? SUSPICIONS UP A NOTCH.]
no subject
[Reaching behind herself there's another flash of light and she produces a full sized mirror which she admires herself, turning around and twisting her head to see.]
I mean, I've never had a flatter butt in my life, but then again some people don't like that. I'm proud of my curves really.
[Her body glows red again and she changes back to her regular shape, slapping her now round thick behind]
That's more like it!
no subject
Despite this, Batman sighed.] So... this place... It's not where I was aiming for. You haven't seen a really old man and a woman with pink and blue hair with black right?
no subject
[She is being so helpful]
As for pink and blue hair, that sounds like Stocking. She's usually in her room having tea parties in her castle made of candy.
no subject
[Said picture was basically a lego brick square with an image on it.]
no subject
[She's gonna take that lego picture and study it for a moment, turning it around and giggling]
This is so surreal even by my standards.
no subject
[Or maybe one of Gandalf's many friends. Or that Emmett guy. Or even the other Batman.]
Surreal? You're telling me. I just fought a guy who threw the statue of liberty at me in Wild West town.
no subject
[ She lights up again]
The statue of liberty!? How big WAS this guy?
no subject
We had to exploit the Keystones in order to beat him.
no subject
Well our situation is a little different.
[She gestures to the heart gem]
That thing has summoned us all here. We don't really know why or how. Magic I guess. There are a bunch of monsters just outside of town that are constantly trying to get in town and probably trying to get to this place. So we go out there and beat em up. Then once you defeat them they poof into gems and we stash them here.
[She gestures to the bubbles of floating gems]
See, they used to be people like us. But their gems got corrupted somehow and they turn into mindless monsters. So we keep em here and hopefully we can save em eventually....or someday all those bubbles will pop and we'll have a flood of monsters right in the heart of our base.
no subject
[At the mention of the gems, he scowled.] And no one decided to lock them up for good reason? They just LEAVE them there?
And people wonder why I have Kryptonite in the Batcave.
no subject
...actually now that I think about it no one is really "In charge" we all just kinda do our own thing. Mob rules yo.
no subject
That being said, it said something about rooms, right?
no subject
[Leading him over to one of the many doors in the area]
OK so our gems give us powers right? Like my gem...
[She twists around showing him the diamond shaped red and black stone in the small of her back]
Let's me do stuff like that shapeshifting trick! I dunno what yours does yet you gotta figure it out. BUT! They also let us access our own personal rooms. And inside these rooms you can create whatever you want...more or less. If it gets too complicated and chaotic the room breaks. That's a mess. But give it a shot! Just...try to open the door.
no subject
[Looking over to the wall, he reached out as a door with a bat appeared on it. Hesitantly, he opened the door to reveal... a room in a mansion somewhere and a elderly man looking up at him.]
Ah master.. [Batman slammed the door shut. NOPE NOPE NOPE BRICK IT.]
I'll look at it later.
no subject
Who was that? Your Dad? No wait he said Master...
no subject
Then again, Lex and Joker didn't when they torched his cave.]
no subject
...eh...well what business is it of mine. We already knew you had to be pretty kinky the way you dress.
Anyway the room is a nice benefit. But remember nothing you make in the room can leave the room. And like...food you make in there doesn't work either. You gotta get a job and buy things.
no subject
[He chose to outright ignore the kinky part of her statement.]
no subject
I think I've got a one up on you this time though Batblock! I bet you can't fit one of these in your belt.
[She reaches behind her back around the general area of her gem, it glows and she produces an entire catapult. Large enough to launch two full sized people.]
You like it? I had someone cobble it together for me up by the junkyard.
no subject
[Pulling things out of nowhere? That was what portals were for.]
