TEST DRIVE - Part 3

Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.


YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

You're just another defective. So since we're here, what in the stars is this place?

And you're a little pest. Go touch that big gem, I'll wait.

[ Well, it's not everyday that one would meet a woman who has bat wings, pale skin, red eyes and fangs. ]

For your information, I'm a Peridot. And definitely not a part of the Crystal Clods. So it really would be helpful if you tell me everything you know.

[Because, uh... Peridot's not going to say that she can't reach.]

[ Well, she looks at the Heart Gem, the back at Peridot. ...And starts sniggering. ]

[ Hey, if she were nicer, Remilia would be more inclined to tell her. Well, she'll probably fill in the gaps. ]

I'll say this, though... You won't have any powers you had before arriving here.

[And now Peridot is embarrassed and pouts. Ugh... Always getting bossed around by Quartz Gems. First Jasper, now this one...]

...Doesn't matter. I'll get then back easy enough... And Ill have more power than you.

[How much can she get away with saying before she gets called out on it?]

[ Remilia would most certainly take advantage of the whole caste system if it gets her a possible servant. ]

Oh, I doubt that very much. I've already regained some of my power.

So, what do you call yourself? Peridot? I am Lady Remilia Scarlet.

I'm a Peridot. You're a bloodstone. Not a Lady Remilia Scarlet. What even is that?

It's my name. In case you haven't noticed, not all of us brought here were gems before... this.

I was a vampire before I became a bloodstone.

You really are not from around here, are you? Or whatever version of Earth you came from.

A vampire is an apex predator that drinks the blood of humans. You do know what a human is, do you?

Of course I do. They infest Earth, along with the Stevens. And I'm not from that pathetic, primitive planet. I'm from Homeworld.

Drinking blood from humans...? Eugh. How can you things even stand eating and drinking? It's what makes you expel so often!

Names really are a foreign concept to you, aren't they? It's a wonder how you tell each other apart. Hmph, call me Bloodstone if you must.

Vampires don't... expel. We're supernatural beings. [ And thank the stars for that. And hell, Peridot is starting to sound like a Lunarian. ]

Supernatural? But you said you weren't a gem? How can you be natural if you aren't even a gem?

Magic exists on Earth too. As in we are metaphysical. And 'natural' in this instance means physical.

So you're just... some weird... thing...? The Metaphysicals? How many are there?

Hmph, even I don't know that. Vampires don't usually make themselves known.

[ Okay, them's fighting words! Remilia summons her spear, but she's not leveling it at the other gem... yet. ]

Listen here you little... clod! [ She almost said shit. Almost. ]

We vampires would rule Earth if there were more of us!

[ Yeah, no. There are beings that are more powerful than vampires that wouldn't like that one bit. ]

[Peridot cowers and backs away a little.]

...But how can you even form an invasion if you don't know how many of you are even there to begin with?

[Good point.]

[ She does have a point. Well, the spear vanishes, and she settles with poutingfrowning. ]

Simple, we convert humans into more vampires.

[Whew. Spear gone. Peridot smiles smugly.]

Ha! Us gems would grind you all into dust. There's multiple planets where we mass-produce gems!

Against six billion humans, who knows how many vampires and every other supernatural being out there, some who can lift mountains? Hmph. You wouldn't stand a chance.

[ She can be smug too. And Remilia, in her arrogance, is absolutely convinced she's right. ]

Oh yeah? Can vampires fuse together to become stronger? I doubt it! You aren't even gems! Fusions would kill you before you'd even know what was happening!

[scarlet_devil]

[ She scoffs at that. ] We don't need such cheap tactics.

Fusions were made for wars like this. You only think it's cheap because you know you'll loose.
