TEST DRIVE - Part 3
Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.
How this works:
☆ This is a test drive for
cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.
☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.
☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.
☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.
☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.
☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.
YOUR OPTIONS:
☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!
☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.
☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.
☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.
You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

All right.
[She touches it. She's silent for a while as the information floods in. She instinctively touches her reformed gem, frowning now.]
We're not human?
[She hadn't been for a long time, but. Not that she knew that.]
no subject
[ She decides not to show Mami her true, furrier form. Not yet. But she'll need to know eventually. ]
But th'rat's not here. Far as I know.
[ So there was that. ]
no subject
[This...isn't going too well.]
And what rat would that be? Surely not Kyubey?
no subject
[ She takes her Pocky box out of her pocket and sticks a piece in her mouth, rolling it between her teeth. ]
Don' worry. [ Her voice softens; there's a sadness to it. ] S'not permanent.
no subject
Your argument's with me. What's he done?
no subject
[ It's close enough to the truth. ]
Didn't step in when ya died, neither. He's a self-servin' little lyin' bastard. Ya'll see soon enough.
no subject
You died? I died?
[She might be gaping like a fish.]
How do you know this?
no subject
[ Her tone is cold, distant. Sad. ]
Didn' ya know wha' ya were signin' up fer?
no subject
Our wishes...they didn't end happily. Our lives will end like that too?
no subject
[ She looks away to hide her watering eyes. ]
Sayaka died in front'a me. Turned inta one'a those... things. A witch.
S-sorry. [ It's a lot for Mami to handle at once. She knows it. It always is. ]
no subject
[Her magical girl junior. The girl who loves watching Mami fight for justice. So much more active than Madoka already. And...that was her fate.]
It has to be a joke! A trick! We can't become witches!
no subject
[ She wipes the tears away and looks at Mami desperately. ] 'm tired'a bein' rejected by ya but I won' lie t'ya neither. Cause ya deserve ta know. Ya deserve ta know wha's happened ta all of us.
I need ya ta believe me, an' I need ya ta listen, an' not ta despair. Cause we can still live, even with all tha' shit, even with Kyuubey bein' an asshole, even with us bein' stolen away from th'world we call home.
Ya were always th'best'f us, an' ev'ryone knew it. Ya still are. Mami, nobody's gonna change how good ya are despite everythin'. Ya'll always be Mami.
Ya'll always have that.
no subject
Soul gem. Soul...in a gem? Those witches she worked so hard to kill...they'd once been magical girls too? She already knew wishes could have unhappy endings, but...they'd become curses? She sinks against the wall, tears in her eyes.]
I led Sayaka and Madoka into all of this...but Akemi-san tried to stop me. Did she know too?
no subject
She's got time powers. She lived it, over 'n over. Th'whole time, she was tryin' ta fix everythin'. By herself.
no subject
[She starts to cry.]
I'm sorry. Sakura-san, I'm so sorry. I can't blame you for going your own way, not anymore.
no subject
[ She scoots over to sit against the wall, just a little ways away from Mami. ]
We didn' know how bad we had it.
[ The tears start to fall from her eyes again. ] But I did th'worst thing, didn' I? Left ya behind when we shoulda stood t'gether. Left ya alone.
'm so sorry.
no subject
[Mami pulls her knees up to her face, trembling now.]
I was too harsh with you before. But maybe...maybe if you'll still have me, we still have a chance? To be what we are now.
no subject
O'course I'll have ya, ya dope. I never shoulda left ya b'fore. 'm not gonna again.
no subject
[She looks so hopeful as she wipes her tears, carefully placing her shaky hand over Kyouko's.]
No matter what we are...I'd be happy to be whatever I am as your friend.
no subject
We're away from him. An' from all'a tha'. Here's wha' matters.
O'course I'll be yer friend.
no subject
I'd be so happy. But when I find my new strength...I still want to fight to protect everyone. You don't have to come.
no subject
S'been a while since I seen ya an' I've changed. I do wha' I can ta help people. Sometimes it even works.
no subject
Even after everything? You'd do that?
You'll come with me?
no subject
S'more like yer comin' with me, ya know. I've been here longer.
[ She grins, baring her fangs. ] Lot abou' this place ya don' know abou' yet.
no subject
[Kyouko, darling, did your teeth get sharper?]
