TEST DRIVE - Part 3
Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.
How this works:
☆ This is a test drive for
cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.
☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.
☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.
☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.
☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.
☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.
YOUR OPTIONS:
☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!
☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.
☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.
☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.
You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

np at all!
Rise… san?
[It's definitely her; it has to be, even if it makes no damn sense. Naoto rubs her temple, then thumbs the brim of her hat. At least the other girl isn't acting like something is terribly wrong, so…
Well. Freaking out again certainly isn't going to help.]
Er, yes. It's… not been long since I arrived.
[Naoto hesitates. She'd really rather not jump right into wild theories, but what else can she go off of at this point?]
I don't believe I've gone back in time. If that were the case, you wouldn't have recognized me, correct? That's… a relief, honestly.
no subject
Back in...?
... Oh. No, it's not like that! I'm just... a little younger now.
[Around five years is more than a little for someone their age. And that explanation doesn't really make sense either, does it? Certainly not for someone like Naoto. But she doesn't really have any other way to explain it. She's sure she'll have a lot of questions to answer...]
But I still remember everyone! Senpai's here too, and... [A pause, as she realizes she doesn't know when this Naoto is from. She's a worldhopping veteran by now, she knows all the things to be careful of.] ... Do you know Labrys?
no subject
…No. I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with the name.
[Should she be familiar? Rise must have a reason for asking. Ah, well. Stay focused, Shirogane.]
I assume the two of you are not here by choice. [Frowning.] Just… what sort of power is at play? Do you understand anything of its nature or purpose?
no subject
For now... well. She doesn't feel like she has much of an answer to offer.]
Not really...
Did you check the heart of the temple? I know we're gems now, and we get powers and there are monsters to fight. But nobody's really forcing us to do anything.
[Speaking of which, Naoto should have noticed Rise's gemstone by now. A heart-shaped faceted pink crystal in the center of her forehead - usually obscured by her bangs, but still fairly visible. Even obvious, from the right angle.]
no subject
I'm not certain what I was supposed to check. To be honest, I was in more than a bit of a panic. The heart… you are referring to that large chamber where I first appeared here, yes? There were hundreds of those strange bubbles.
[You can practically hear her taking mental notes. Speaking of, she's been so mentally overwhelmed that it isn't until now-ish that she notices Rise's gem.]
Your head… [Without thinking, Naoto starts reaching back behind her own head, but her fingers stop short.]
no subject
[She blinks, looking confused at Naoto's sudden comment. Her head? What about...]
... Oh! You mean my gem?
[Blushing a little, she reaches up to brush her bangs aside, to give Naoto a better look at it. And also notices her reaching behind her head.]
Is that where yours is?
[Pardon her, Naoto, she's just going to scoot around you to get a better look, if she can.]
no subject
[Considering where it is, Naoto hasn't even gotten a look at it herself. Still, she doesn't mind Rise checking it out — especially since it's an affliction they now share.
She takes off her hat and leans forward some to give Rise a better look. The narrow, light-purple gem is embedded in the lower back of her head and upper neck. Her hair isn't nearly long enough to hide it.]
