TEST DRIVE - Part 3
Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.
How this works:
☆ This is a test drive for
cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.
☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.
☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.
☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.
☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.
☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.
YOUR OPTIONS:
☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!
☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.
☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.
☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.
You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

...Well, it IS fun, too. Ad for a zombie apocalypse? What if it already happened and we're the only survivors because of my fort? See? I think ahead!
no subject
I hadn't considered that!
[A burst of laughter]
Well if The Great and Powerful Trixie is to become a warrior of the post-apocalypse she can think of no finer Equine to share the adventure with!
no subject
About that... I seemed to have lost most of my powers... It might be a little difficult.
no subject
As it so happens, I shall share a secret with you I've never told anyone!
[leaning in conspiratorially]
I never had any powers~ but I am an expert in illusion. And that maybe all we need for now.
no subject
Illusions... Something I used to have as well. "The Great Deceiver", I'm known as. And honestly, it's kind of fun being a space pirate like that.
Go on. Show me an illusion. You have an audience willing to see you.

no subject
...Do you often perform for people?
no subject
[She rolls up her sleeves and reaches behind Unicorn Trixie's ear to produce the unwrapped candy bar. But where's the wrapper? She opens the bar to reveal the wrapper rolled up inside. Not such a simple truck after all?]
no subject
[Now Trixie's definitely impressed. It takes a lot of skill and dedication to do something like that, so have a little small applaud from Trixie.]
...You know, there might be some other way to use your skills. "Let the sun shine to those in the dark". Captain Celestia usually helps out those in need.
no subject
Well, the reason for our current situation seemed rather vague...what do you propose?
no subject
Well... Captain Celestia isn't here and I don't think the level of technology is high enough to build a working spaceship, let alone one with an improbability drive... Why not just chill on this planet for who knows how long trying to help others with whatever? It's not as if Equestria exists anymore.
[This Trixie seems really casual, doesn't she?]
no subject
It doesn't appear we have much choice in the matter. I've been informed no one's been able to find anything outside of the town...And I'm not exactly equipped to sail a boat.
[A small smile to show that part was a joke at least.]
no subject
Well, at least this is a decent change in routine for me. Not going to be seeing much wanted posters of myself around.
So you find anything fun to do around here?
no subject
Some kind of theater that puts on stage shows, mostly illusionary performances I think. An obsticle course on the beach, the arcade looks promising, and some very scrumptious looking pastries at the bakery.
[But all these little hints are just eating away at her so she has to ask]
Clearly you have lived a life of...adventure. With many ups and downs, a space pirate, a unicorn. Trixie must know everything she can about...well Trixie.
[She gestured to her with a hopeful smile. She may be your biggest fan already]
no subject
Trixie adopts a haughty pose, probably the very one the other Trixie might adopt so often.]
Trixie doesn't normally give out private performances.
[A second or two later, she begins laughing again.]
Ah, the things I used to say back then... You sure you want to know? It's a very, very long story. And I haven't performed for a job in such a long time...
no subject
[ It doesn't hurt that the more amazing this Trixie is the more amazing human Trixie feels]
no subject
Just because it's improbable doesn't mean it's impossible. But as you wish, human Trixie.
[And thus began the very long story, beginning with her arriving on the ship and her adventures on it before she actually became the space pirate.]
I do not envy you having to write out that history section
The drama! The action! The unadulterated wonder and glory of Trixie! You are more amazing then I could have hoped! Which means I can be even better someday!
[Though if anyone were to ask outside of this fort she would pretend she already was that amazing.]
Meh. I've written gigantic history sections before.
It's nothing really when you get used to it. Like I did. Comes naturally for me, I guess. But that improbability drive did some crazy shit.
[Yep, Trixie just swore.]
But the story isn't over yet. However... it's been a bit long. Maybe some other time. You mentioned being a human, right? Any crazy adventures?
no subject
[Ah, her own life. Now comes the difficult choice. Does she embellish the truth, or be honest with herself?]
Trixie's life adventures are...more in the introductory phase right now.
[As much as she'd like to boast and build herself up, She knows Sunset Shimmer is here and if she lies to Trixie now and Sunset tells her the truth it might be trouble later.]
In the last three years Trixie's school has been plagued by magical mishap. Twice have magical maniacal menaces attempted to dominate the world. Twice was Trixie the victim of mind control and emotional manipulation. And a third time...well Trixie was more a witness to the events where rifts in space and time almost destroyed our world.
To put it honestly...Trixie has been adventure adjacent.
[She sounds fairly disappointed at that. But it's better she build a strong relationship with...herself, rather then get caught in a web of lies later. She doesn't mind lying to everyone else in Waverly Bay but this is Trixie!]
no subject
Introductory phase? Sounds like you already had three of them!
[Trixie ruffles the other one's hair.]
Come on now, there's no need to present yourself as lame. We're Trixie. We deserve to have others think of us as awesome.
no subject
Well no one EVER made the mistake of calling Trixie lame! Why if not for Trixie then the entire world would have been over run by the magic of three selfish sirens! While few know the truth Trixie was the savior of that day through her ingenious manipulation of events!
[Gesturing now making the most of the small space as she tells her tale]
Our school was still recovering from the horrific events of the Fall Formal, when a mind controlling demon claimed the prom queen crown and found herself soundly defeated. But the wounded school pride was easy prey for the Sirens who blew into school and used their melodious magic to manipulate the minds of our student body!
It seemed their plan was to inspire chaos and friction among the good hearted students of Canterlot High! A battle of the bands fueled by jealousy, selfishness and anger. And as the battles grew more intense Trixie knew the school needed a hero! Someone they could rally behind!
[Her gem glows producing a crystal guitar which Trixie strums along building the story up more]
Forming a band of two loyal apprentice magicians, Trixie fought her way through the rankings with song after song. Original compositions by yours truly of course. And while other students found themselves unable to overcome the Siren's superior power, Trixie's unstoppable band wove a different form of enchantment on the audience.
But alas...trickery and betrayal! Knowing that Trixie was bound to humiliate them, the Siren's manipulated the judges into declaring an inferior band the winners! Trixie's team was out of the running...or so it would seem.
It was then I saw the truth, while Trixie had the superior skills, to defeat wicked magic Trixie would need magic of her own. And the only true magic avalible would be found in the form of our competitors "The Rainbooms!"
But they too had fallen under the spell of those devious demons! Bickering and bad blood was tearing the group apart when only their unison would provide the magical might to overthrow our enemies!
Thinking fast, I gathered the Rainbooms together and trapped them under the stage. In such confinement they would be able to hear Trixie's final composition and be inspired to rally together. To Rally behind Trixie and become more then just a handful of students with the good fortune to have stumbled into magical power.
With an explosion of music and rainbows, the Siren's were defeated, voices ruined and chased out of the school!
Of course, Trixie graciously stepped aside to allow the Rainbooms the glory. Their lead singer Sunset Shimmer was the same Demon who had ruined our fall formal. This act of heroism would be the validation and vindication she so dearly needed to grow as a person! Oh how kind and generous can we be?
