TEST DRIVE - Part 3
Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.
How this works:
☆ This is a test drive for
cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.
☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.
☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.
☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.
☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.
☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.
YOUR OPTIONS:
☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!
☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.
☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.
☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.
You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

Parasites, then.
[The correction earns a brief flattening of his ears back against his mane but no other sign of emotion one way or another.]
I'll offer a question for a question. If you don't like those terms, you may find your answers on your own. I asked first.
[And he sounds as if he's doing Sigurdu a favor by offering at all, as if he's going out of his way to be helpful to this peasant.
It doesn't matter that Sombra hasn't the faintest idea what this walking wall of armor is doing here or what brought him here or even where they were, that was utterly irrelevant.]

Though he hates how pompous this equine is proving to be, and this situation is all the more ridiculous because of it.]
I'm an Au Ra, and I hail from Ishgard.
[He crosses his arms over his chest, almost sneering down at Sombra.]
Now answer me.

Isn't cooperation better?
[That's right, do as he says.]
The Crystal Empire lies near the North Pole. They specialize in crystal-based magic. I have visited it once or twice but considered our kingdoms to be friendly. Perhaps they have changed their minds now that the throne is held by others..
[Sombra deliberately gives Sigurdu a slow look up and down, then moves to circle him with interest.]
As it seems they have chosen to summon a small giant to their cause, and a warrior at that. Are there others like you?

[Sidurgu watches him, his expression leaving nothing to the imagination for how he feels about this arrogant pony. He looks a nudge or two away from reaching over and removing Sombra's horn, if only to shove it down his throat. He resists, obviously, but he is a man of little patience, and even less so with this situation he's in.]
I am not entirely unfamiliar with crystal based magic.
[Of course, this crystal based magic isn't like the type he's used to, but he has no reason to suspect that. However, when he begins to be circled, he looks much like a coiled cobra ready to strike at the slightest ill taken step. He doesn't trust this talking beast, and likes him even less.]
I am a knight who does not swear his fealty to any lord or kingdom. If they are of the ill-begotten opinion I would serve in whatever swiving cause they have, they're clearly mistaken.
[He's gonna ignore the question about if there's others like him. Because, while there are, it hardly matters. Particularly when he's not seen much of his kind in years.]
no subject
No. A kingdom should rely on its own strength to defend itself or its allies. Bringing in outsiders is asking for escalation at the least. I would have thought them wiser than that.
[Soberly said, that. For all his arrogance Sombra doesn't believe in bringing in anyone, nevermind bipeds, to do the fighting for him. He preferred bloodying his own horn, thank you.]
A word of advice. When their princess speaks with you, decline politely. I have heard the Crystal Empire prefers imprisoning its enemies in pocket dimensions, and I do not think you have the power to challenge an entire empire alone.
[He pauses, ears perking up.]
And avoid Equestria. Nothing like you has been heard of, never mind seen. Finding your way back to your own kind won't happen there.
