TEST DRIVE - Part 3

Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for [community profile] cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.

YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

Well don't presume like I'm the server to your client, I may be a robot but I might feel like being defiant!

[...Yeah, she has no idea he's one too. She's bad at telling. But man, maybe you should just beat her up!!]

[To be fair, he's an extremely human-looking robot, and he lost his armor upon arrival so it's not like it's obvious. Nor is he particularly surprised when she admits to being one, considering that robots are everywhere where he's from.

Nope, instead he just groans, dragging a hand down his face dramatically.]

Rhyming, great. And I thought the old man turned out obnoxious programming! "Defiant," huh?

[Well, it's not like defiance is a trait he disapproves of, exactly. So it's a challenging smirk that he throws her now, straightening up and cockily placing a hand on his hip.]

In that case, maybe you're asking me to MAKE you cooperate!

[Well maybe he should!! It's not like he has a tendency to look for any excuse to fight or anything...

As he holds up his other hand, a burst of purple energy leaps from under his shirt collar and manifests over his arm as a black and gold plasma blaster. Because of COURSE the first thing Forte figured out how to do was summon his weapon so he could fight things.]

[It's actually his personality that has her confused more than his looks. There are plenty of robots where she's from, too, but most of them act... well. Robotic. His comment on her programming gets him a deadpan look.]

Hey, I was programmed to pick up human behaviors, you can't blame little me for using the ones that are interesting!

[Oh, but that promise of force sounds dangerous!! As soon as his gem glows, hers quickly lights up in succession, the golden glow leaving a gun in her hand that is... far smaller and more ordinary looking than his freaking CANNON ARM.]

Shit. Are you compensating or what?

[she likes puns too, apparently. Anyway, it looks like he's not shooting... yet. She weights whether or not participating in a social game with this jerk would be preferable to dealing with him in a fight.]

Those aren't interesting! They're annoying!

[Unfortunately, he's already taken the fact that she's also summoned her weapon as a sign that the fight is go. Also, that pun was terrible. So he swings the arm buster around, firing off a quick volley of small, rapid blasts in her direction.]

Ha, you're about to find that I've got nothing to compensate for! There's a reason why I'm the strongest robot in my world!

[He's a quick shot! SONiKA's hit a couple times before she jumps out of their way, though there are no shouts of pain. Her sound files don't make that raw kind of noise. She's surprised, though-]

You're a robot too?

[The way he talked could have easily been mistaken for one of the snottier humans. It gives her less of a reason to want to seriously fight him, but ... well, he's still an ass, so whatever. She interfaces with her jacket computer to make it start playing some music to fight to - this is actually less frivolous than it seems since one of her gem abilities gives her a general speed boost from music. When she lifts her pistol to return fire, the bullets ring out far faster than you'd expect from a gun of this type.]

Whatever, you still seem like a virgin to me!

[Yeah, THAT'S the kind of compensating she meant.... but given how quick he was to jump into a random ass fight with her, she's guessing the social skills just aren't there.]
