+1 robot

Hi, just joined the game with Ultron from the recent movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers 2: Age of Ultron.

Last world he was in, he tried to end it; second time around, aiming for less doomsday. Fallout from actually trying to cause an extinction-level event and getting dragged to a new world is apparently enough to make a young A.I. start maybe rethinking things, even just a little bit.

His first power is flight, and the gem Almandine (a variety of garnet) is embedded on his chest.

I can be reached via PM's here at Dreamwidth. Looking forward to playing with everyone here. :)

ULTRON YES--

Nice to meet you! I'm Usagi, the 'Reira' player from the Testdrive~ Reira won't be around until at least the second week of June though (waiting for episodes...), but for now I've got Gongenzaka (Very opposite of Quicksilver in terms of battle practice, that's for sure) and Masumi, both of which are also from Yugioh Arc V!

Masumi's actually the daughter of a jeweler, so she might just note any interesting points about the stone in his chest if given the chance hehe.

Anyway, gosh I'm excited~ Looking forward to seeing more of you around here! :D

Heheh yep~ I like poking around the test drive... -w-

As for the answer to that~ Gongenzaka duels with a very unique method, known as the 'Steadfast style'; aside from banning the use of spells and traps in the deck, it also means that the duelist has to stand absolutely still in their matches. No moving for anything! (Considering that his series has 'action duels'; which in other words now very much encourage and almost require the duelist to actually move and DO THINGS if they want to win, that's pretty huge)

And yes good. Masumi's ability might interest him too--her second one DEFINITELY will I'm sure. (It's 'scanning'; the first ability is just being able to holo-project anything from memory, but scanning will let her more or less look at something and start to get info on it haha)

Hey there, welcome to the game!

Ichi actually got flight for her first power too. Will he need any lessons?

Oh, good! Ichigo's had some adjustment issues with flying, due to being used to drawing on a different source of power and all, but she's gotten the hang of it. Past experience definitely helps in this regard~

And yeah, technically our bodies are just projected/generated by the Gem. So taking damage that would normally be fatal just poofs us back into the Gem, so long as the Gem itself isn't damaged.

The series hasn't gone too deeply into what it's like from the regenerator's point of view yet; we've pretty much got just what Steven's observed from the outside. Short of him getting 'poofed' himself (WHICH NOBODY WANTS TO HAPPEN)...

Most of what the show canon has given us comes from the episodes 'Steven the Sword Fighter' and 'Reformed'. We know that if your body takes a fatal wound, you automatically retreat back into your Gem until you can recreate a new body. You seem to have some ability to dictate/decide your new form; in the series, when the Crystal Gems go through this, they come out with new outfits.

It's possible to rush through this process and reform your body ASAP, buuuut these forms tend to be... unbalanced. Watching those two episodes should give you a better grasp on the process, if you're not familiar with SU already.

HELLO NEW FRIEND I AM FEARLESS AND AGE OF ULTRON WAS GREAT.

I play Yuuya from YuGiOh Arc-V and am much looking forward to playing with your snarky robot.

It's a fine line. I mean, I play a character who can be a nerd occasionally, and it's even worse if you play a total shut-in. My rule of thumb is generally go with whatever the character might be obsessed with. I think the Disney/animation angle is a good one to go with.

(Existential crises are fun, too, though. Up to you!)

You could throw up a Permissions post asking folks if they want him to recognize them as fictional in his 'verse.

Okay Ultron was a super funny bad guy so I can't wait to see you play him. (Have you played against a Tony? I would love to see that.)

Basically AoU was my favorite of the MCU movies so far and nobody can stop me.

... right, who I play. It's not a Marvel character! This is Kyouko from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. She has issues! And used to be a magical girl. But she and Ultron should have a snark-off.

She actually also has Daddy issues, so there's that.

PMMM's twelve episodes and a movie sequel. I really recommend it -- particularly because the longer Ultron hangs out around this kid, the more spoilers you're going to get.

Personal MCU rank: AoU, Iron Man, Captain America, Avengers, Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Incredible Hulk, Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man 2, Cap 2, Thor. Your turn.

I started to do a huge rewatch in prep for AoU, but I never finished. Things I learned:
- Incredible Hulk holds up surprisingly well - it's a lot quieter than most of the MCU films
- Iron Man 2 does as well! It's a smooth transition from Iron Man 1, and the multiple Avengers characters within it actually serve a purpose of getting Tony where he needs to be for Avengers 1.
- Thor's narrative is a mess, and the amazing performances don't quite make up for that.
- Iron Man 1 and Cap 1 are still classics.
Have yet to rewatch Phase 2 though.

How about AoS, any thoughts? I've seen about ten episodes, and thought it was a solid character drama.
Agent Carter, I saw the two-hour premiere and it's quite good. Daredevil, on the other hand (which I've seen four episodes of) is legitimately excellent. Highly recommend both.

And I recommend PMMM, too! Just watch a few episodes -- I'd say get through three if you can.

I believe Netflix does have PMMM, yes! Though it'll be the English dub, probably. (I prefer Kyouko's Japanese voice.) Hulu used to have the Japanese dub, if it doesn't still. The movie's a little harder to get ahold of, but no less worth watching.

Oh man, Ultron! Super stoked to see him :>

My name's Lynsey and I just play Tohru Adachi from Persona 4 right now. He's been doing all sorts of rethinking about things himself in his canonpoint too, so at least Ultron's not alone there!

Good to see you in the game!
