TEST DRIVE
Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.
How this works:
☆ This is a test drive for
cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.
☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.
☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.
☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.
☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.
YOUR OPTIONS:
☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!
☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.
☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.
☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.
You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

it's with uncertainty that she stands and begins to explore, but before she can so much as call out a hello she's distracted by the large, thrumming gemstone before her. it pulses with a strange warmth, steady and soft, and she finds herself gazing up at it with no small measure of awe. ]
Oh..
no subject
[just sitting nearby, book open in his lap]
Another new one, huh?
no subject
Oh - yes, a little. I'm sorry, but what do you mean?
no subject
Uhm, is that too much explanation to start or not enough? I have notes if that helps?
[pulls a notepad out his pocket]
no subject
Notes might help.

- Go through weird hole in your shape even though it seems like the actual worst idea (it it!!!!)
- End up in new world with a gem stuck in you somewhere (different gems and locations on people)
- Giant floaty gem (G.F.G.) shows ability to communicate but refuses to communicate how to return home
- G.F.G. gives us things to do sometimes
- Gems give you SUPER POWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Nearby town is Typical Sleepy Town with Little Communication With Outside World thus cutting us off from traveling or investigating outside methods of returning home]

You're rather studious, aren't you? Have you been here a long time?
no subject
no subject
You wrote that we can.. communicate with it? How is that?

not like she... also isn't distracted by it...
the giant gemstone is a lure, and she can't help herself. she, too, is gazing up at it with a smile, unwittingly touching the gem over her heart.]
Wow... I've never seen anything like this.
no subject
she should be worried, shouldn't she? about why they're here at all. about where this place is. and yet. ]
Neither have I.. it's really something else.
no subject
anna looks over to her sister and smiles, but her attentions return to the stone.]
What do you think it is? Do you think there's some message on it, or something under it?
no subject
[ where do you get these WILD IDEAS from, anna. ]
I don't know. Why do you think there would be?
no subject
without so much as a trace of fear, anna approaches the gem, examining it more closely, trying to find some secret engraving.]
Well, this doesn't seem like your regular gemstone! It seems like... a heart. So, maybe, it's got something to s--
[in her searching, anna places her hands on the gem, and suddenly, she's flooded with answers, even to things she didn't know to ask about. and even when she has more questions, some of those are answered too. if she is there for a second or a year, she doesn't know, and when she's received all she can from the gem, she pulls away and stumbles back, touching at her head.]
Elsa...
no subject
Anna!
[ elsa isn't the adventurous sort, so of course she hadn't thought to try to touch the thing, at least not yet, but anna's going on and doing it before elsa can stop her. and then she's stumbling back, and elsa is right there to steady her with both hands on her shoulders, concern written all over her face. ]
What happened? Are you all right?
no subject
anna doesn't seem too bothered by the information rush, and once it clears itself, she gives her sister a cheerful smile, and a thumbs up. not like that'll assuage all her fears, but it'll help, right?]
The gem... it did have something to say! It explained a lot, way better than I could. Like what that thing on your chest is, and where we are. [a pause, and anna turns to face elsa, offering her elder sister her hand.] It doesn't hurt, I promise!
no subject
at any rate, elsa looks hesitant, and anna seems fine, but she's not entirely convinced. some consequences take a little while to set in. but.. even elsa can't deny that this strange gemstone feels - well, warm. welcoming. and though she's cautious by nature, she'll take a chance and trust her sister.
she still looks a little unsure, though, when she turns to face the gem, tightly grasping anna's hand with one hand, while the other reaches out toward the large gemstone and - oh. wow. head rush. ]
... Oh.

[She steps back a little, her wings tucked in right against her her body.]
I-I didn't...hurt you, did I...?
no subject
[ the little pony is definitely talking, and elsa is watching her with wonder. but she'd known a talking snowman, after all, so she has seen stranger things. ]
I hope I wasn't in your way.

no subject
Please, don't worry about it. It's fine, really.
no subject
[That does seem to put her at ease though, as she gives a small smile, being careful of the dragonfly clip in her mane as she brushes hair away from her face.]
Mm...M-My name is...Fluttershy...
