TEST DRIVE - Part 3
Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.
How this works:
☆ This is a test drive for
cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.
☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.
☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.
☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.
☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.
☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.
YOUR OPTIONS:
☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!
☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.
☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.
☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.
You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

Erm...The...Great and Powerful Trixie?
no subject
...Fancy meeting you here. You can come in.
[She moves to reveal the entrance to the fort she made.]
no subject
This is...cozy.
no subject
It should be. I made it. As you can see, I'm Trixie, too. I got a little information about where I am, but maybe you have more for me?
no subject
Unfortunately I've only been here a couple days myself...of course Trixie is taking it all in stride, no doubt you are aware of her...our? resilience.
[She brushes back her bangs to reveal her gem, a soft purplish pink thing that is roughly the same color as Trixie's Magic]
Have you been through situations like this before? Magic holes and gems?
no subject
Not exactly. Four apocalypse ponies blew up Equestria and the rest of the planet and a spaceship took me beforehand. Beforehoof. But the improbability drive did a number of crazy things. You wouldn't believe some of it.
[Trixie shakes her head and chuckles a little as she takes a bag of Twix off the shelf and opens it, beginning to munch on some.]
no subject
I...did not understand most of what you just said...the words made sense but the concept eludes me.
Perhaps we start smaller...why have you constructed a fort in the middle of this store?
no subject
Trust me. It's true and I didn't believe it at first, either.
To collect tolls from people that can afford them. Why else would I?
no subject
Perhaps in preparation for a Zombie Apocalypse, Or maybe Trixie thought it would be fun to hide out in the shop and stay till after hours.
A toll both is a much better plan though.
no subject
...Well, it IS fun, too. Ad for a zombie apocalypse? What if it already happened and we're the only survivors because of my fort? See? I think ahead!
no subject
I hadn't considered that!
[A burst of laughter]
Well if The Great and Powerful Trixie is to become a warrior of the post-apocalypse she can think of no finer Equine to share the adventure with!
no subject
About that... I seemed to have lost most of my powers... It might be a little difficult.
no subject
As it so happens, I shall share a secret with you I've never told anyone!
[leaning in conspiratorially]
I never had any powers~ but I am an expert in illusion. And that maybe all we need for now.
no subject
Illusions... Something I used to have as well. "The Great Deceiver", I'm known as. And honestly, it's kind of fun being a space pirate like that.
Go on. Show me an illusion. You have an audience willing to see you.
no subject
no subject
...Do you often perform for people?
no subject
[She rolls up her sleeves and reaches behind Unicorn Trixie's ear to produce the unwrapped candy bar. But where's the wrapper? She opens the bar to reveal the wrapper rolled up inside. Not such a simple truck after all?]
no subject
[Now Trixie's definitely impressed. It takes a lot of skill and dedication to do something like that, so have a little small applaud from Trixie.]
...You know, there might be some other way to use your skills. "Let the sun shine to those in the dark". Captain Celestia usually helps out those in need.
no subject
Well, the reason for our current situation seemed rather vague...what do you propose?
no subject
Well... Captain Celestia isn't here and I don't think the level of technology is high enough to build a working spaceship, let alone one with an improbability drive... Why not just chill on this planet for who knows how long trying to help others with whatever? It's not as if Equestria exists anymore.
[This Trixie seems really casual, doesn't she?]
no subject
It doesn't appear we have much choice in the matter. I've been informed no one's been able to find anything outside of the town...And I'm not exactly equipped to sail a boat.
[A small smile to show that part was a joke at least.]
no subject
Well, at least this is a decent change in routine for me. Not going to be seeing much wanted posters of myself around.
So you find anything fun to do around here?
no subject
Some kind of theater that puts on stage shows, mostly illusionary performances I think. An obsticle course on the beach, the arcade looks promising, and some very scrumptious looking pastries at the bakery.
[But all these little hints are just eating away at her so she has to ask]
Clearly you have lived a life of...adventure. With many ups and downs, a space pirate, a unicorn. Trixie must know everything she can about...well Trixie.
[She gestured to her with a hopeful smile. She may be your biggest fan already]
no subject
Trixie adopts a haughty pose, probably the very one the other Trixie might adopt so often.]
Trixie doesn't normally give out private performances.
[A second or two later, she begins laughing again.]
Ah, the things I used to say back then... You sure you want to know? It's a very, very long story. And I haven't performed for a job in such a long time...
no subject
[ It doesn't hurt that the more amazing this Trixie is the more amazing human Trixie feels]
(no subject)
I do not envy you having to write out that history section
Meh. I've written gigantic history sections before.
