TEST DRIVE - Part 3
Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.
How this works:
☆ This is a test drive for
cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.
☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.
☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.
☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.
☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.
☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.
YOUR OPTIONS:
☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!
☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.
☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.
☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.
You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.
Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

[That gets a small smile from her, though there is a hint of sadness behind her eyes.
But still she nodded.]
Perhaps. We'll see what happens.
no subject
[She smiles a little more reassuringly, going so far as to lightly pat Pyrrha once on her shoulder before her usual grin returns.]
Besides, that means you get to hang out with the four of us for now.
[GIRL TIME. 8D]
no subject
Well, that sounds grand.
[While she did consider team RWBY good friends, they hadn't exactly spent a significant amount of time together, what with all the things going on since they all started attending Beacon.]
no subject
[Yang pumps a fist up a little.]
Lemme ditch this Gem in here and I'll show you around.
[She gestures vaguely at the orange bubble that's been floating idly beside her.]
no subject
What is that for?
no subject
[Yes, Yang, the bubble you gestured to not five seconds ago.]
It just keeps the gem inside contained so it won't break free and transform into a monster again.
[Because, you know...that's a thing.]
no subject
How does it do that?
[Won't a bubble...pop?]
no subject
And then shrugs.]
I guess it kinda disables them? Could be harder to break it from inside than outside or something.
[She's honestly just stopped questioning some things.]
no subject
[The more she hears about this place, the stranger it gets.]
May I take a look at it?
no subject
Sure.
[She delicately open palms the containment bubble, not unlike one might handle an actual soap bubble, guiding it over to Pyrrha with a surprising amount of care.]
no subject
Hmm...It is more stable than I imagined it would be.
no subject
[She waves her hand vaguely at the multitude of colorful bubbles floating about the chamber.]
I think just about everyone with a gem can do it too.
[With practice anyway.
...Don't ask her how long it took her to work out how to do it without breaking it.]
no subject
[For the first time, Pyrrha really gets a good look at the bubbled gems around them. She had noticed them before, of course, but this conversation with Yang was giving their presence a whole new meaning.]
So all of these were previously gem monsters?
no subject
Probably. Most of them are, anyway.
[There's a reason she doesn't come in here much that actually doesn't have anything to do with the Heart Gem. Because somewhere in here is the gem belonging to the monster that killed Ruby.
She gives a blink, and then switches tracks, smiling a little lop-sidedly.]
I've seen people bubble other stuff though, so who knows. Somebody's diary could be hiding in here.
[She laughs.]
Or their ex.
no subject
There could be people here?
no subject
Nah, I doubt it. I'm sure we'd see 'em if there were.
[Probably hear them too. You know, hopefully.]
no subject
I hope so.
no subject
Come on, this room is a drag. Just wait until you see the view outside the Temple.
no subject
That good, huh?
no subject
When's the last time you had a gorgeous beach for a backyard?
[She turns, starting to head towards the main door out.]
I'll show you the quick way out.
no subject
[As she follows Yang, she glances back towards the temple corridors.]
How bad is the long way?
no subject
Sure, if you don't mind the killer wildlife.
[She's kinda curious as to how Pyrrha will react to just how exposed this town is to the surrounding wilderness compared to places back on Remnant. All in good time though, as she stops in front of the large main door.]
Boring. And confusing. Like worse than trying to find your way around Beacon on the first week.
[At least Beacon's hallways and stair cases don't seem to change...??]
I think Weiss got lost in here once. Besides, you can just use your Gem to get in and out of the Temple anyway.
[As if to demonstrate, there's a warm glow just visible from under her shirt, an answering fiery light burning it's way along the doors edges before it opens, revealing a short corridor with bright sunshine and the sounds of the ocean beyond.]
no subject
But when her eyes adjust and sees the beach, they widen a bit.]
Oh wow...!
no subject
[Yang can't help but smile, enjoying the sight herself. She may not always like being stuck here without a choice, but it's hard not to like the beachfront property.]
no subject
[She'd seen the ocean before, but never like this.
As she takes a step outside, she glances back towards the temple.]
It seems a lot bigger on the inside...
