TEST DRIVE - Part 3

Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.


YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

Miraculous Ladybug | Adrien Agreste/Chat Noir

[Okay, okay, the hole had been worrying. Strange holes appearing from nowhere were a sign of something going on. Probably an Akuma. But Chat Noir could have dealt with that.]

[Suddenly being Adrien Agreste in a strange new place without knowing the deal with the whole was something he was less able to deal with. Especially when he couldn't find Plagg.]

[Which has lead to him wandering the temple, holding a piece of cheese of all things.] Plagg. Plagg! Get out here, this isn't funny!

[He's kind of just hissing that quietly into every nook and cranny he can find.]

[The hissing is what catches Jane's attention, even though she can't make out the words being hissed. It concerns her enough to follow the sound.]

Hello? Is someone here?

[That's a person. Shoot, were citizens already being pulled in?]

[He quickly pockets the cheese again, no need to look like a weirdo, and turning towards the voice. To call attention to himself or not...]

[He can't find Plagg. Plagg was irresponsible, but he never avoided Adrien like this. Something was wrong, making it so he can't approach. And if things got worse, it's going to be a lot harder to get to people in a timely manner as Adrien if he's far away from them.]

[Okay, so...attention it is.]

Hello? [He's heading towards her voice.] Whose there?

[Jane emerges from around a nearby corner, looking around until she spots this unfamiliar boy. Oh, my, the Heart's at it again, isn't it?]

Ah, over here! Are you alright?

Kidnapping aside? Yes, I'm doing all right. [He approaches her, looking her over. At least she seems to be in one piece.] Are you all right?

[Kidnapping? Well that IS one way to put it. And don't think she doesn't notice you checking her over, buster, though she's not sure what to make of it.]

Why yes, I'm fine - and I have been for as long as I've come here. You wouldn't have happened to come through a hole and ended up here, have you?

[It is perfectly platonic checking out of a superh-I mean, a totally nice guy, yep.]

I did. [Though, she's fine?] That's kind of a relief. So the Akuma is just annoying instead of violent.

You haven't heard anything about Ladybug or Chat Noir yet, have you? [Of course there'd be nothing of Chat Noir, but maybe Ladybug is already on the case.]

[No no she's not suspecting that, it just occurs to her that it's odd.

Jane shakes her head.] I haven't, no, but I can tell you right now that this isn't the work of...whatever an "akuma" is. It's the Heart Gem's doing. You didn't happen to see it, did you? It's kind of hard to miss.

Heart Gem? [That was...new. He supposed the Miraculous could be considered a kind of gem, but nothing had been called 'Heart'.]

Oh boy, I guess not. Here, would you like me to show you?

I would appreciate it.

I must say, you're handling this quite well, for someone whose not used to Akuma. [That's because it's been happening for months, Adrien.]

[cyan_maid]

That's because I'm fairly sure that whatever that might be, that's not the reason for it.

[But she just smiles and gestures for him to follow her. Luckily, the Heart's somehow close by, so it doesn't end up feeling like she's luring him into trouble or anything.]

There it is - you've just got to touch it, and you'll get an idea of what's going on.

The super villains that keep attacking Paris? Have you not heard about Ladybug and Chat Noir at all? [Well, there WERE other heroes in the world (according to word of god at least), but Paris was a popular city.]

That seems simple. [But he pauses. Because it sounds like magic and he knows you don't just mess with magic without thinking about it. He looks at her again, looking her over. Usually if there's a possession, there's some kind of sign.]

[She doesn't LOOK possessed...]

I'm afraid you won't find your friend here.

[ There is a young woman, five feet tall, and... Well, her skin is deathly pale, her eyes are red, she has fangs and a large pair of bat wings. ]

An Akuma?!

[Stepping back because oh shit, Akuma and no Plagg]

A devil? Some call me that.

I'm a type of devil you might have heard of. A vampire.

[ She's fully expecting him to pick a fight, because... Well, that how it usually goes when somebody caught up in this kind of strangeness runs into a suspicious person back in Gensokyo. Either way, Remilia was amused. ]

But that doesn't mean we need to fight.

[PLAGG, YOU LAZY GLUTTON, WHERE DID YOU GO I HAVE A VAMPIRE AKUMA AND I'M A PRETTY BOY WHAT IF SHE WANTS TO EAT ME]

Vampires are pretty popular. [He's got a very nervous smile on his face, because he's a civilian, one whose never around Akuma, he has to be intimidated.]

[At least he's one hell of an actor.]

We....uh, don't? Aren't you guys usually pretty violent?

I am a noblewoman, not some uncivilized brute you might find hiding in filthy alleyways.

[ Really, now. Who does he take her for? ]

Battle has its place, and this is not it.

[Really, he's not surprised. Not all Akuma were violent. It was rare, but some could be reasoned with if they understood what made them Akuma in the first place.]

[But 'Adrien' wouldn't know that.]

Um. So when....does it? I'd just rather avoid that place.

Well, I hope you're not a monster like the ones outside town...

Really, we're all here because of that big gem... which changed us.

[ Her gem is on her upper chest, it'd be very obvious if she was wearing something with a lower neckline. ]

Wha-of course I'm not a monster. I haven't been akumati-ah, I mean, Akumas aren't even monsters, technically?

Just, you know.

People who had bad days?

[Wait, what's this about a big gem?]

...I'm assuming we're talking about different sets of beings. I've been around for centuries.

And it's not due to a bad day.

[ The one in the heart chamber, with the 'touch me!' sign on it. ]

Of course. I was born in the sixteenth century, after all.

That is....awful long for an Akuma. I think they only last a few hours usually.
