HOW'S THE GAME?

Welcome to Cosmographia's first "How's the Game"! This is essentially an open forum for discussion about where to take the game from here and anything that might need changing. A lot has happened in the past week and going forward we feel it's more important than ever to have a discussion like this.

This is not a place for criticism of specific players or characters. This is purely about the game itself. Please save player specific criticisms for the upcoming How's My Driving. Any disregard for this or out of hand conduct will be frozen or deleted.

We are inviting not just all current players (old and new) to participate in this discussion but also past players that have left and new potential players considering the game; we encourage everyone to pitch in their two cents. That being said, since this is the game's first HTG we are currently going to do it without anon or sock journals (for future HTG this may change).

Like said this is a completely open forum. We have a list of topics we want to discuss (listed below), but after all those have gone up players are completely free to start their own threads with anything not covered by the other sections.

Current sections (please wait until all these are up and linked to post your own they're all up now!):

Setting Suggestions
The World Outside Waverly Bay/Potential World Plot
Event Schedule/Power Distribution

Yeah definitely. We'll have to do it the same way with weapons too like "NO YOU CAN'T GO CRAZY WITH A CHAINSAW GUNBLADE TWICE THE SIZE OF YOUR TORSO"

Harder rules need to be in place in general

I'll fully admit that I'm coming from an extreme canon bias with this but how would weapon-summon restrictions affect characters from canons like RWBY (both in-game and future) who do have weird weaponry.

Well right now I'm talking mostly about the freebie weapon power, and how we'd like that to stay really basic.

It'll be something we'll have to talk about a bit more so don't take this as the definitive final stance, but you could still upgrade a weapon power into something more ridiculous just like other power upgrades, or perhaps suggest it as one of your unique powers (since it's possible for characters to have multiple weapons as separate powers and I would personally feel better giving someone a more over the top weapon if it was earned from an event)

Like let's use the silly weapon I made up in the above comment. It could start as a normal or small chainsaw, but then an upgrade could give it the gun feature and then another upgrade would increase its size.

For characters already in game things will probably stay as they are unless a power is super gamebreaky because idk I don't think it's fair to go back now and force you to depower your stuff.

Ah, okay. In that case, would characters still be allowed to app in with their weapons on-hand, assuming they would have had them on their person going through their hole? And then potentially upgrade their weapon summon power to encompass their custom weapon or something like that?

Either way, I definitely am glad to not have to worry about a possible nerf for my own character already in-game. XD She'd be very upset if her shot-gauntlets suddenly became normal gauntlets.

...y'know, I forgot that was ever a thing because my character came in game while being in jail and thus no longer having his weapon.

OTL

That's something I'll have to talk with the other mods about.

Yeah, I think a lot of characters have apped in as having their personal weapons on them (not just the RWBYs; I think Roland did as well as the video game characters like Thida, Link, and Pit, and some of our OCs?).

I'll admit, I'm personally hoping that allowance won't change since it'll distress characters to end up in a world without the weapons they had on them at the time they went through, especially if those weapons are important to them.
