TEST DRIVE

Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.


YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

I think some of the Gems went back to space?

Like with a catapult for rocks?

[A rockapult? Catarocks? Wait, that might actually be a disease.]

Actually, they had spaceships. And these things called warps. You stood on these crystal circle platforms and they would just WHOOSH you places in a stream of light.

[He makes a whooshing hand gesture to demonstrate.]

Ohhhhh!

[She smiles again at the whooshing sound and gestures. It fits together quite nicely.]

That'd be real nice, for when yer late to school, or work, or ya really want food from a specific place that cooks it just right.

Well, I think they only go to where there's other warps. But maybe that's how Gems use them on their home planet?

[He should have asked Rose about this when he had a chance. Maybe if he sees one of the other Crystal Gems he could ask them?]

Hey, what's your name, anyway? I'm Greg Universe.

[ohmygah]

Oh, so its gotta be connected, like railroad tracks.

That's a neat name, Mr. Universe! I'm Ayumu Kasuga. Most folk call me Osaka though. [She's basically fine with either by this point.]

Yeah! A real space train to the cosmos!

[Like his album!]

I can call you Osaka if you want. Or Ayumu. Whichever you like!

[Osaka's maybe easier to remember, though, since it's a place Greg's heard of.]

[ohmygah]

[That's a nice image. Space trains. Lots of action movie adventures could happen on the top of a space train.

Erm. No one's ever really asked that before. Her eyes dart back and forth a little in consideration.]

...Well whaddya you wanna call me?

Maybe I'll call you both! Osaka sometimes and Ayumu sometimes. How about that?

Sure! And I'll call ya Mr. Universe!

Great! [He puts his hand up for a high five.] That's what I used to call myself back when I was a rock musician! I even had it on a tee shirt!

[ohmygah]

Amazing! Oh, I guess that means I got my name on tee shirts too! [She hadn't really considered that before. It makes her feel pretty darn good.

She stares at the hand for a second before slowly pulling her hand back to smack it into the the hand. It makes a light slap noise on impact. Yeah. This is a good day.]

Yeah, you probably do! [They sell tee shirts that say 'Osaka' on them in Osaka, right?] Maybe we can find you an Osaka shirt somewhere and I'll wear one of my old Mr Universe shirts and we can take a picture.

[ohmygah]

Yeah! We'll be name shirt people! [Said with a lot of excitement for a sentence that sounds like she just cobbled various words together. Even if it makes sense in context.]

Yeah!

... hey, that's a great name for a band. Or an album.

Name Shirt People? What kinda band could they be?

Uh, probably any kind of band, actually. Maybe it could be our band name if we had a band together?

Whoa! Really? But I don't even really know how to whistle!

[She's no Yomi, but she wouldn't call herself phenomenal, musically wise.]

Huh. Well, whistling is kinda hard for some people. But that's okay, I can whistle for the two of us.

[Conclusion: Osaka has decided that Greg is pretty darn cool.]

[What? Oh, right.] I dunno, Pearl can get touchy about some pretty minor things. She's one of the Gems that still live on Earth. Her and Garnet and Amethyst and Steven.

I guess I'd be mad too if someone was in my room. [She pauses to consider it.] Other than friends and nice folk.

Yeah, but even with friends and nice folk, it would startle you if they were there when you didn't expect them, right?
