TEST DRIVE - Part 3

Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.


YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

Not in Remnant, huh? Then where is this place? [That's interesting.] Is that so? Then what are we doing here? [Not that she totally minds a world without Grimm, but...why were they brought here?]

Not sure.

[Wait, which question was that in answer to, Yang?]

But the Heart Gem there keeps pulling people from all sorts of places, not just Remnant. And anybody who comes in through one of those holes ends up with a gem of some kind on them.

[She'll just take it for both then. But the rest of Yang's explanation gets her attention.] A gem? Why?

Not really sure about that either.

[Reasons why the Heart Gem kinda reminds her of Ozpin sometimes. There is an extreme lack of clear cut answers going on here.]

Other than we've sorta...become whatever gem we ended up with.

[She still doesn't understand how that works and she's really not sure she wants to know.]

Yeah.

[Yeah.]

There's a couple people here who kinda get what's going on because they were always gems I guess? Or something? They've all got gem names like Pearl or Amethyst and I think they came from some place kinda like Waverly Bay.

[A hapless shrug.]

But they don't seem to know why they were brought here either and they really don't seem to know how or why people are getting turned into gems.

...It's kinda messed up.

[Understatement of the century.]

[She couldn't help making a face.] It sounds like quite a mess.

So...you have a gem as well?

[And for that matter...does that mean she has one of her own?]

Yeah, under my clothes.

[I MEAN SHE CAN SHOW YOU IF YOU REALLY WANT PYRRHA.]

Where it is and what gem seems to be different for each person. The Heart Gem can probably tell you what it is though at least.

[A small smile.]

Or I could take a look for you.

[For once, she's not teasing. She'd totally understand if Pyrrha doesn't want to go touching the Heart Gem after that explanation she gave.

...Okay, maybe she's teasing a little, but she still would understand.]

[That gets a small smile from her.] I see. [No, she's good, thanks. Hearing about the Heart again has her glancing back at it, unable to help feeling a little skeptical about it.] Actually, I probably would feel a little better if you would help me find mine.

[nailed_it]

[Yeah, she wouldn't call herself paranoid about the Heart Gem but Yang kinda tries to keep her interactions with it to a minimum. ...Kinda like how everybody tries to avoid Glynda back home.

She laughs cheerily.]

Okay! At least it doesn't look like you've got it on your forehead or somewhere else on your face like some people here do, so that's good.

And you'd probably be able to feel it if you had it in the same place I do.

[...Yang.]

Hm...it's not near your throat like Weiss's kinda is... Oh! Ruby's gem is on the back of her hand though.

[She holds out her hands, palm up and then palm down for demonstration.

Honestly, let's hope it's somewhere obvious and not...weird. Although Yang'll probably laugh if Pyrrha has a tramp stamp gem on her lower back like Blake.]

[Hmm...So it didn't seem to be anywhere visibly showing, which for some reason she thought was a good thing. But like Yang, she hoped it wouldn't be any place too strange. Hearing where Ruby's gem was located though suddenly made her aware that her hand did feel a bit strange, though. So she held out her hands as Yang did, palms facing up. And despite her gloves, it was easy to make out the slight protrusion in her right palm that wasn't in her left.]

[Yang spots it almost immediately, pointing it out with a wavy gesture of her finger as she smiles.]

I'll bet that's it there.

[aura_spear]

[She carefully touched it with her free hand, getting a feel for it even before she takes a look.] More than likely, I suppose. [Then she slowly removed her glove, revealing the black stone resting in the center of her palm.]

[nailed_it]

Huh...

[She inclines her head a little, looking at it curiously.]

That kinda looks a little like Blake's gem.

[aura_spear]

[Touching the gem, Pyrrha tilts her hand, letting the low light reflect off the smooth surface of the stone.]

Do you know what kind of gem Blake has?

[nailed_it]

Yeah, it's called Hematite, I think?

[The funny thing is, she probably only knows what Blake's gem is because she fused with her.]

[aura_spear]

[Pyrrha considers this for a moment as she regards her gem, before shaking her head.]

No...I don't believe that's what this is.

[She's not sure how she knows, but....she was sure that it wasn't the right gem.]

[nailed_it]

[Yang won't question it at any rate. She's no geologist. ...Gemologist. ...She's really not any kind of "-ist".]

Hmm, well, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. There probably aren't that many dark gems.

[aura_spear]

[She nods, closing her fingers over her palm a moment before moving to put her glove back on.] I suppose I'll have plenty of time to figure it out. [She wasn't entirely pleased with the idea, to be honest.] You mentioned that Ruby, Weiss, and Blake are also here? [That was another concern, she had to admit. Because while team RWBY seemed to be all here, it didn't sound like any of her team members were present.]

[nailed_it]

[She nods.]

Yeah, they were already here when I arrived.

[Her expression shifts a little, like she has a feeling she knows where this is going but still trying for an upbeat approach to it.]

Jaune, Ren, and Nora aren't here yet but...maybe you just got here ahead of them?

[aura_spear]

[That gets a small smile from her, though there is a hint of sadness behind her eyes.

But still she nodded.]

Perhaps. We'll see what happens.

[nailed_it]

I'm sure everything'll be fine.

[She smiles a little more reassuringly, going so far as to lightly pat Pyrrha once on her shoulder before her usual grin returns.]

Besides, that means you get to hang out with the four of us for now.

[GIRL TIME. 8D]

[Her smile widens a bit at that.] Well, that sounds grand. [While she did consider team RWBY good friends, they hadn't exactly spent a significant amount of time together, what with all the things going on since they all started attending Beacon.]

Great!

[Yang pumps a fist up a little.]

Lemme ditch this Gem in here and I'll show you around.

[She gestures vaguely at the orange bubble that's been floating idly beside her.]

[She had noticed the bubbled gem before, but Yang's comment brought her attention back to it.]

What is that for?
