TEST DRIVE - Part 3

Maybe you've been here for a while, or maybe you just got here. Either way, you're all in the same situation - you've been turned into a magical gemstone and stranded in a foreign world! And all you've been left with is the clothes on your back, stripped of all powers except one.

Clearly, you’ll just have to make the best of it.

How this works:

☆ This is a test drive for [community profile] cosmographia, which means you should get a little familiar with the setting and premise.

☆ Otherwise, this is just meant to help you feel out how you may play and serves mainly as a chill interest gathering and get together kind of post! No app necessary, and you don't need to play in this post to apply - or vice versa.

☆ Everybody is welcome! There are no character limitations; pg au oc canon pigeon whatever. Just toss up a topcomment and/or jump any threads that pique your interest.

☆ This post will remain open until it begins to approach 5000 comments! Then a new test-drive post will be made.

☆ Rules-wise: Be cool to yourself and others, and keep in mind the other game rules too.

☆ If you do apply to the game and are accepted, and you want to keep the CR, you may so long as what you did isn't setting breaking and everyone involved agrees.

YOUR OPTIONS:

☆ You find yourself in the Heart of a ruined temple. There is a large glowing gem that thrums with some kind of rhythm, and jewels scattered all over the room, kept in strange bubbles. At the very least, touching the large gem will give you a standard info-dump, but some of you might be a little cautious about touching weird luminescent gems. Good thing that there are other people there too!

☆ Or perhaps you already know everything there is to know, and are there in the Heart of the Ruined Temple to greet new arrivals. Or perhaps you simply had business there already, like storing away a corrupted gem from a monster, when someone new seemingly dropped in from no where.

☆ It's Farmer's Market day in the plaza of Waverly Bay! Perhaps you're there perusing the goods and strike up conversation, or accidentally bump into someone and get to know them that way. It's a fairly standard day.

☆ There's an event! You don't really know what else to call them - missions, perhaps? But something in the temple was triggered, and the glowy Heart gem has something new to "tell" you: If you want a new power, you should try telling other people two truths and a lie. Those who you interact with must try and divine the lie from your statements.

You have no idea how something this simple will get you a power, but hey.

A: Arriving at the Temple

[He isn't sure why he had been so drawn to that hole. There he was, in the Churning Mists on some aggravating errand for those godsdamned moogles, collecting plants or some such (why was it always plants?), when he had noticed it. Before long, he found himself not only through the hole—but in this temple as well.

Confused, lost, and, for what he could immediately discern, alone.

To be fair, his observations are a bit distracted at the moment, so any others near by are easily overlooked. His attention is currently caught by the gems. Curious though they are, he dares not touch them, particularly the larger one. Instead, he regards them with pointed agitation, a scowl creasing his features as he looks them over, before eventually focusing on the biggest one of them all.

So, the only reasonable thing to do now to get his bearings is clearly talk to himself, since he's rather well practiced in that. Nothing to see here, just a 7 foot tall scaly lizard man in full plate armor talking to himself.]

...Right, then. And where in the sodding hells is this supposed to be? I swear, if this is the doing of one of those pompomed little parasites—

[He lets it trail off as he starts to notice how he feels different—off, even. And that his right eye in particular feels strange. It works, as it always has, but there is something about it that feels different... absently, he brings a hand to it, leaving him reasonably distracted from anyone who may approach him.]

B: Farmer's Market Day

[So, Sidurgu's not actually sure why he's even come to Farmer's Market Day. He scarcely enjoys being in crowds, or shopping, or... well, anything that goes into this, really. Perhaps he was feeling a little stir crazy, or maybe he felt the need to watch the crowd for possible threats—or maybe he's just bored.

Whatever the reason may be, those are, at least, the thoughts dancing around in his mind as he's trying to figure out why he's subjected himself to all these people. In fact, he looks visibly annoyed as he makes his way through the crowd of people, not exactly being careful of his large frame, so doubtlessly he's probably nudged a person or two. With his armor clad self...

No one said he was polite, after all.]

[Option A]

[This wasn't a part of Equestria he knew. He might have thought the Crystal Empire with all these gems floating about in peculiar bubbles, but that didn't explain the lack of ponies and high number of odd looking bipeds.

With this much strangeness about, what's one black unicorn in a cloak? Left to his own devices, Sombra is content for the moment to investigate the many jewels scattered about, balancing carefully on his hind legs to reach to try to touch one with his nose. Could they be pulled down, without his magic working? Did they belong to someone?

It didn't matter. They could belong to him. He was after all, still king. Even with the false-Celestia now sitting on his throne.

Now if he could just get this thing down..!]

[Option D]

[Two truths and a lie.

While Sombra had gotten used to being talked to by the floaty gem, its suggestions still made no sense. More power he understood perfectly, and power he lacked. One would think after absorbing the evil of TWO alicorn princesses he would have power to spare, but fate was not being particularly generous.

And so he sets out, ears pinned back against his mane, a scowl on his muzzle, looking for someone who might be worth even cornering to play this inane little question game with.]

A. Temple Heart

[Well this is... new.]

Where... is this?

[She'd been in the process of fleeing from Zero and at the time the sudden hole that appeared out of nowhere seemed like a great idea. She'd assumed Decadus would be right behind her but...]

...Decadus?

[Her disciple was nowhere in sight.

Maybe this just... transported her to another sister's land?]

One? Two? Three? ...Five?

[She says that last name with a definite distaste, as if that's the last person she'd like to see right now (not just because of her relationship with her sister but also because Five was already dead) but at this point she's desperate.]

...Anyone?

[it's starting to dawn on her that she might truly be all alone and she begins to nervously clasp and fidget with her hands (unaware of the gem now resting in her left palm]

Oh no, what should I do...

[WELP... HOPEFULLY THIS MEANS CERTAIN FOUL MOUTHED BIG SISTERS WITH SORORICIDE ON THE BRAIN AREN'T HERE TOO...]

B. Town - Two Truths, One Lie

[Well now that she's been here a little while and knows the score, Four's sense of justice and duty have made her more than willing to do as the Heart asks.

...Though she thinks this little "game" is kind of immature. But if it helps, it helps...]

Harry, don't look now, but there's some kinda...rock stuck in your skull.

Rock? What the hell you talkin about, a rock-

[There are two older men here, both explicitly cartoony in appearance, as though they had stepped out of the illustrations of a Roald Dahl book. One is rather short and pudgy in appearance, while the other is explicitly mean and lean, almost as though to contrast their appearances.

The short one feels around his forehead, and after tugging up the beanie a bit (explicitly showing some horribly-burned skin), feels the gemstone stuck in his forehead and leads out a scream.]

THERE'S A FRIGGIN' ROCK STUCK IN MY FOREHEAD!

Don't worry, Harry, I've got it!

[Almost as if on instinct, a crowbar manifests itself into the lean one's hands and he swings it at the lean one's gem...effectively smashing him in the nose and knocking him down on the ground. The lean one then proceeds to stand over him in awe.]

...did I get it?

[...his face towards the crowbar with horror.]

...how'd I get this?

B. Power-Testing

I'm tellin' ya, Harry, I could get pretty used to this whole 'Gem Bandits' shtick!

[Harry and Marv walk past the arcade in clothes far too warm for the tropical climate, as Harry twists his wrist a bit, causing several quarters hanging in a cup by one of the machines to come flying out towards his hands. Some get in there successfully, but many others hit his fingers too fast, causing him to cringe in pain - but he comes bouncing back in mere seconds.]

See, look at this! It's like a comic book! You can't tell me this isn't beyond cool!

Well, I don't know about you, Marv, but I didn't sign up to come out to some tropical island so I could play superhero.

[As drop ins usually go, there was a loud thud and a sharp curse as someone landed in through a hole; a middle aged man with a shabby looking 5'o clock shadow and a slightly undone red tie. He seemed none too pleased about his predicament as he rose to his feet, rubbing his backside as he looked around, his eyes turning sharp and precise as he analyzed his surroundings.]

Tch...what a way to wake a guy up. If this is some kind of joke, it isn't funny at all.

[The more he looked around, the more he got the feeling that this was the furthest thing from a joke. He wasn't going to freak out, that wasn't going to do him any good.]

[Fitz lands on the temple floor and rolls to his feet, dazed but defensive, taking in his surroundings. He instinctively reaches for his sword, and finds it gone, obviously lost in the transfer. His first thought, looking around, is that he's passed through a Skill-stone. This place could well be an Elderling ruin, especially with the strange glowing orbs around him and the glowing gem nearby.]

[The people passing him by, strange as they are, bear little resemblance to the Elderlings he's seen before. He quests out with his Wit, trying to feel their little flames of life, but is met with nothing. He doesn't know what to make of that - they don't seem Forged, but they can clearly see him, they must be there.]

[Cautiously, ready to run or lash out if necessary, Fitz approaches one of the strangers. He cuts quite a threatening sight, tall and wiry with a badly broken nose and a look to him that suggests he's not unready to fight, but he means well!]

[B]

[Fitz is unsure about this mission. If there's one thing he's had drilled into him time and again, it's the value of secrets. But he's also used to gritting his teeth and doing what needs doing. Perhaps he can regain his Wit - without it he feels blinded and deadened.]

[He reaches out to snag the arm of a passerby.]

What the hell!? What happened to my armor??

[Yeah, he's only got a light grey and white bodysuit on. Whoops. Forte claps his hands to his head, confirming that his helmet is gone too, and screws his face up in concentration for a moment. Nope, he can't re-summon his armor. He hisses something under his breath and scrambles to his feet, glancing quickly about the room. No immediate apparent threats, at least, but this is both someplace kind of weird, and not anyplace he recognizes. What's with all the rocks?

Scowling, he closes his eyes and tries to call for Gospel, but that doesn't work either.]

[ Yup, another day in the temple, another newbie arriving, though this one looks...different to say the least.

Muscular at roughly five foot nine, his bleached blond hair is lighter by the temples light.

He is also wearing nothing but a pair of boxer shorts. Despite this he seems to have produced a cigarette from somewhere and is taking a long drag on it as he stares up at the massive Crystal, and then turning back to look for the hole he just fell through. His gem appears to be a black and white round shape in his belly button which he's now just noticed and is picking at idly.

After a lot of thinking about all this he finally breaks the silence]

[There's another skeleton tumbling into the temple today. He looks worn out, with nicks on his rather odd outfit. The pseudo hero thing is weird enough, but he's also wearing a blue winter coat that doesn't fit him right. It seems it's not the first time the coat has been cut up, with a slash mark on the front carefully stitched up. The coat may be familiar to anyone whose met another certain skeleton.]

[He seems to have been crying. How a skeleton cries is a mystery, but so is the fact his sockets are closed.]

[But then they snap open and he's sitting up, looking around.]
No...no, no, no, no!

[He's stumbling to his feet, looking panicked.] Where-human! HUMAN! [He's almost shouting by default, but apparently he CAN shout louder.] Is this another one of your strange abilities?! Are you giving me a puzzle?! But you don't even like puzzles!

Option One

[She almost rolled her ankle upon landing, the ridiculous heels the servants insisted she wore definitely not made for such a drop. Naoto would have caught herself by other means too were it not the the fact they didn't seem to come to her so readily. Looking down at her feet with a scowl, she raised her head shortly and blinked.]

[This... it was no longer the Castle. Instead, she was in a chamber decorated by crumbled stone and bubbled gems from the appearance. And there, in the center, a larger one? Staring at it longer, its gentle thrum almost drew her to touching, but she remained back, skeptical. Considering everything that had been happening, who could say if that gem was safe. Was if it was another ploy by that faerie? Sleeved arms crossed over her chest, dark dress swaying as she popped a hip, she soon raised a hand to her chin.]

... I need to get out of here before anything happens.

[But how was the question. Beast would go on a rampage if he found her to be missing, or worse... she scowled, considering the hovering gems again. Could they be some key?]

Option Two

[It's... weird to say the least. Her, out at this farmer's market, and mostly back to normal in shirt and pants again, but at the same time, she wasn't. The gem on the back of her right hand made her more than aware of that fact. Also, she could still feel it; the power that was given to her upon becoming 'Beauty'. It just... had to be manifested through her gem instead of begin granted to her so freely.]

[It wasn't so bad; it did make buying greens easier since she could discern a healthy produce from one already rotting.]

Hm...

[Setting the celery down, she stepped back only to immediately take a step forward after her heel hit something.]

The Heart

[He spent about a minute on his knees, panting heavily and sweat on the brow. That was weird... what the hell was that? Last he remembered, he swung a fist into the giant crystal that put a weird voice in his head, a defensive - and really, understandable - reaction.

Then there was pain, as if someone sucker-punched him in the same instant, and everything burned a bright, hot red in his vision. Now he was on his knees, fighting to get his thoughts back in order.

It was an odd mix: Nothing in this place looked, smelled, or felt familiar to him, and left him more cagey. His "storybook circumstances" were hard enough to keep a leash on without being thrown somewhere else.

So he stood. Slowly. He had an inkling he knew what he was doing here, despite being told when he hit that weird crystal that he was something else entirely now, he had to rule out something that had been a thorn in his side since he'd been crowned into a position he didn't ask for and plopped into a castle that was never his.

His voice built into a roar, eyes cast out into the rest of the chamber. Someone, or something, was there.]

GET OUT HERE! I'm sick of your bullshit!

Seems he's accidentally fallen into some catacombs of the Underground, perhaps carved out while the monsters were fresh from the war- seems very old. Oooh, that brings back unpleasant memories... but that still doesn't explain all the bubbled glittery gems, some cracked and some downright shattered- not to mention the giant pink gem in the center of the large chamber, all softly glowing and pulsating.

He can be found 'hhmm'ing and walking around, inspecting bubles but not touching them.]

The Hills
[At night, when the sun is well beyond set and the moon is high in the sky, there's a warm orange glow from the lighthouse hill Is someone burning something? Something... awfully man-shaped? Without smoke?

Nope, new gem. Definitely not a monster since it it's not causing mass chaos, but rather stargazing like it's been a thousand or so years since he'd last seen them. Actually, that's not far off.]

The Tavern/The Diner
[It seems there's a new fiery bartender in the Lucky Shamrock Tavern, and from what you've seen, he's an expert in handing drinks. Damn, look at him go. He's quick and precise and very good at balancing glasses on his arms as he passes them to tables, then returning behind the bar to wash dishes. All without a face.

Or perhaps you see him taking orders and delivering food in the local diner (if Waverly Bay even has one), occasionally working in the kitchen. He's just as skilled here as he is handling drinks. Maybe you can catch him on break, strike up a friendly conversation, mlearn more about the talented addition to the growing Gem population.]

a. Market.
Now that the shock of being here has mostly ebbed away, Dave is allowing himself to indulge. Let's be real, some weird things never stop being weird as hell, but there's an element of normalcy in all of this that Dave finds offputting. His life got so strange that, at an undetermined point in time, it became commonplace for his ass to be u-hauled into a place he's never seen before.

It's more like anything he's seen before than space ever had been, at least. It's hard not to forget why he's here and pretend he's lived here his whole life. Regular old Dave, Waverly Bay resident, the kind of hipster trash who makes his way to a farmer's market for the taste of fresh apple juice.

Once his prize is acquired, he's left with little choice but to meander around and see the sights. Tacky, homey decorations are abound, but so is food. God, he's missed food. He didn't think he'd miss the outdoors or a sun that isn't green but by the good lord, he's enjoying being out of the house in the early hours of the day? This truly is the afterlife, he's died and reincarnated as a rube.

For once, he's kept muttering to a minimum and so he hasn't garnered the attention of many people. Just. Bugs. A wasp, to be specific. "You want my sweet, sweet juice, don't you? I know all about your kind, bro. Back it up." He mutters at the wasp, tarnishing any possible reputation he had for sanity. He passes a hand through the air to swat at it, but the bee persists. He doesn't have the heart to kill it, even if it's hell spawn, but maybe a warning wouldn't be so bad.

"Hey wasp, say cheese. Or. Honey. Do wasps eat honey or is it just whatever the caterer brings to the Country Cl- Look, whatever. You asked for this." He murmurs again, to a bug. Very discreetly tipping his shades down just slightly so he can focus all of his mental energy on the World's Most Pointed Look. Of course, pointed looks aren't so simple when you can fire lasers out your eyes. It's just that his lasers are piddly and useless. He fires, but all he shoots is a weak dart of energy, just singeing the yellow ass of this bastard.

Now he's pissed it off. The wasp has no compunctions about fighting fire with fire, so it's making a point of diving at him with intent to sting. Dave, seasoned knight and survivor of many, many horrible things has... no idea how to deal with this. "Holy shit are you dive bombing me? Shit- you are. Look- Truce. Truce! Jesus, go home." Now he's doing less muttering and more active rambling, swatting and stepping backward while trying to protect his juice.

b. Heart Temple.
It's not Dave's first time here, he hasn't just arrived. It probably won't be his last time here either. He doesn't care what explanation they provide him with, he just can't logically understand being brought here with no possible way to re-access the place he left behind. He knows he's dead there, he doesn't want to go back. Trust and believe. It's just difficult to stomach the idea of leaving so many people back in that mess. If there were a way to pull more people in, specific people in, he'd have to look into it.

He remembers where the hole he walked through was, but there's no trace of it around here. He doesn't feel anything particularly weird about it either, which is a funny thing to say about a room that looks like it's straight out of the mansion of an eccentric celebrity with more money that taste. He doesn't hate it.

He does hate this, though. Feeling guilty with no outlet is a little exhausting, but there's something peaceful about being here even if it's the source of his problems. Maybe he'll just chill here for a bit. Lean on the wall. Stare at the ceiling. Good plan.

[That's a robot.

It's a robot rabbit.

A bipedal robot rabbit the size of your average stuffed animal scurries mechanically over the sand. As per the note he found, he touched the big crystal where he'd fallen out of his hole. His new mission is to stay here, he understands, and to help the people that live here against the threat of other corrupted "gems." It doesn't matter that he has no idea where his sword has gone, or that his surfaces are pitted with salt and his joints a little stiff. Seb likes having purpose. And he likes not being crushed in the dark beneath the weight of the ocean even more.

His own gem sits on his front panel, right over his chest where Dirk's hat logo has started to scratch away. It's a bright, blue and orange banded agate in a chevron-like shape pointing downwards. It might be a stylized bunny head, ears sticking up and perky. Or it might be a kind of vertically squished heart.

Okay yeah it's probably a bunny.]

[ARRIVAL]

[ This must have been a dream. The last thing Nanako could remember was her big brother and his friends visiting her before drifting off, and the feeling of something warm and reassuring, like someone's hand gently rested on her forehead... ]

Mmm..?

[ Her arm rested on the cold marble floor, her eyelids fluttered open as the faint light slowly flooded her vision. Groaning a bit, the pig-tailed girl slowly sat up, looking around in sleep-addled confusion. This wasn't the hospital room. The slow, steady sound of machinery was gone, left with an eerie silence. Above her, strange shapes encased in bubbles floated, just slightly out of reach.

Standing, she drew a hand to her chest, shrinking a little. ]

Big bro? Dad?

[ This was a dream, it'd be silly for them to be here. Yu was probably at school, and her father was at work. They have other things to take care of. Dream logicâ„¢.

Well, if this was some kind of dream, then obviously she should investigate, right? Nothing could really hurt her, although her chest felt a little funny, a strange weight settled just above her heart. It was probably fine. Finally standing, the young girl made her way toward one of the bubbles, reaching up tentatively. ]

[FARMER'S MARKET (2 OPTIONS)]

[ Yay, her favorite day of the week! It wasn't quite Junes, but there was a lot going on here. The plaza buzzed with life, and Nanako, in an attempt to try to learn more about this place she would temporarily (hopefully!) be calling home, moved through the crowd, watching people. It wasn't a good idea to talk to strangers, and her dad would probably yell at her if she did, but watching was okay, right?

Besides, there was bound to be good deals to be found! They could all make yummy food together! Quality bonding, yes! She could use some of the recipes that Yu taught her and really impress her housemates.

Let's see, what did she need? Looking intently down at her grocery list, Nanako was lost in her own world--so much so, that she managed to indirectly (or directly, in this case) headbutt the person standing or walking in front of her. ]

A-ah! I'm so sorry!

[ asdhfasdf ohgosh what even abort abort abort. ]

---

[ After a bit of embarrassing snafu earlier, the young girl at least managed to get a few things, a brown shopping bag in her arms. Craning her neck a bit to see over the rather large bag she held, she saw it, the one thing that she was missing to make her plan perfect! Yes, finally!

But she needed more arms, and there was quite a crowd. Not so perfect. Getting on her toes, the pint-sized shopper attempted to look for an opening to squeeze in. At this rate, they might be sold out by the time she gets in there! ]

[WILDCARD]

[ Don't like the pickings here? Hit me up with something else! ]

[Temple]

[Seems most every week someone new shows up. So when someone hears distressed cries from the Temple Heart chamber, that by it self isn't so strange.

What MIGHT be strange is they are not the sounds of someone lost or scared. Okay, maybe scared, but to the point of panicked. And muffled.

And punctuated by a few 'Awooooo!!'s. In fact another not very animal sounding howl goes off the moment one goes to investigate- coming from one of the holes. Peeking inside they might just find a foot barely visible, wiggling around. It's bare, with dull canine claws but otherwise human. Well, except for the hunk of rock set in the ankle.

Try not to get kicked, though even grabbing it might mean getting part way into the rather small hole...]

A. ARRIVAL ✩
[ Sometime in the middle of the night, an alarmingly loud crash can be heard inside the Heart of the temple. Those intrepid -- or concerned -- enough to investigate will find a black armored demon lying in a heap on the floor near the center gemstone, a black-bladed greatsword still spinning a short distance from it, obviously having been dropped by the demon. A sharp, pained hiss comes from the figure as it gingerly tries to push itself up from the floor into a sitting position. It's difficult to discern any sort of evidence from that noise alone of the thing actually being sentient, but it at least doesn't seem quite as hostile as it appears to be; for the moment, it's far more concerned about what must be an injury in its side, possibly from crash-landing in the temple.

The demon claps one of its armored hands against its waist, between its ribcage and hip, and once again hisses, this time more softly. It shakes its head miserably, then takes a moment to look around at its new surroundings. Certainly the presence of the creature doesn't seem all that promising, but perhaps if it's approached carefully, it might prove to be less likely to attack...
]

B. FARMER'S MARKET ✩
[ Cecil doesn't really enjoy going outside without her armor on, but wandering around that way also doesn't really help her learn much about this world. In Baron, on the Blue Planet, the Dark Knight armor was both protection and a weapon; it safeguarded her expressions and concealed her thoughts while also serving as a warning to all who passed her that they weren't going to get far in carrying out whatever insidious plan they might have had.

In Waverly Bay, though, it's merely a barrier, a handicap. The humans don't trust her when she's clad in black metal and sharp blades, and while she doesn't blame them at all, she does recognize that making at least a few connections in town could come in handy in the future. That's why she's only wearing the black clothing she always wears under her suit of armor-- a black gambeson and breeches, sword strapped to her back just in case. She stands out even in this colorful crowd and that has little to do with her being armed, pale as she is. Still, she's polite and well-mannered, keeping a respectable distance from the stalls and people who seem wary of a new gem.

A - Arrival.
[ Urianger was not one who often enjoyed new places. Even if he had memories of that other versions of Eorzea - his mirror - this was still steady and part of him. Another place meant he could be seen as traitor - and who knows? They may find out his lies.

There is none of this showing in his face, however, as he removes his hand from the Gem - his motions gentle. The gem right in his chest - the one he'd checked - almost looked like White Auracite. Of course he'd carry that reminder. His expression quite lineface-y, he looked around - to see if there was somebody else.

And then he spoke. ]

...Would there be more to wherefore we came?

---

B - Event.
[ Two truths and a lie, hm. This would be easy - he would not need to share much. His voice quiet, he looked up from his ever-present book (for there was much to study in this world, even if the history were lacking.) ]

If thou desires a new skill, then we shall play along.

I were meiny to another crystal 'ere becoming the thrall of this one, I know aught of magic, and... I am oft loathe to leave the familiar.

[ His voice doesn't waver - he is a good liar, after all. ]

A) Arrival

[There's the sounds of someone screaming before a thud within the Temple of the Heart. By the Heart itself is a purple-haired teenager, looking dazed, her body positioned so that she isn't showing the world her unmentionables.]

Owowowowow... Uuugh, wha... what is this place? [As she goes to stand up, she uses the Heart as a balance, only to be taken off-guard by the sudden rush of information.] What the...?! What in the...?!

[She quickly lays a hand on her head and sighs.] I've stayed up too late again, haven't I?

B) Farmer's Market

[It seems that it's that time again, though instead of mingling about, Ellen's doing something different. It wasn't a surprise that her weapon was the Love Guitar Rod, allowing her to be able to use its guitar mode as just a normal guitar.

Thus, you'll probably find her somewhere, strumming along and singing a wonderful melody.]

C) Random

[Okay, no one was around, and if they were, they weren't looking. This place is ridiculously strange and, even if she doesn't have the Fairy Tones, she still has her Cure Module. Maybe the ridiculous way the world works could let her become Cure Beat again!]

Right...! Let's try this out! [Jutting the brooch out, she began drawing the shape of the clef note] LET'S PLAY! PRETTY CURE MODULATION!

[Aaaand, instead of the usual, sparkly transformations, her clothes and hair are shifting around, causing Ellen to panic.]

WHAT'S HAPPENING?!

A.

Considering Mana's life had been less than stellar, she was trying to push forward through her worries and nervousness as she touched the heart. The information was disorienting, but welcome.

Leaning against the wall, she reached into her pocket and pulled out some of her precious supplies, and began to eat. Not knowing when she could get her next meal.

C.

Coaxed out of the Temple into the light, Waverly Bay was a place that was full of life. People hawking their wares, playing on the beach, everything was as it should be.

"It's so green," said Mana to herself softly, as she noticed a small child who tripped. Moving over, she bent over. "It's okay," she said to the kid. "You can stand up, right?"

The child nodded, and Mana stepped back for him to rejoin his friends. A pang of sadness flared up, as she remembered that some children never got the chance to play like that in Oogai Town.
